HomeMy WebLinkAbout2713 " RESOLUTION NO. 2713 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING JURISDICTION TO IMPROVE PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR STREET PURPOSES~ WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has heretofore acquired by eminent domain the abandoned Pacific Electric Railway right of way from Huntington Drive on the north to Huntington Drive at its intersection with Holly Avenue on the south, all in the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has no present plans for the improvement of said property for street purposes; and, WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia is desirous of planning the improvement of said abandoned right of way as a public street in conjunction with the further improvement of the Arcadia Civic Center site, the Southern Methodist Hospital, and the improvement of the Arcadia Wash channel in said vicinity by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County be requested by appropriate action to confer jurisdiction, right and title upon and to the City of Arcadia for the improvement as a public street of the abandoned Pacific Electric Railway right of way property, extending from Huntington Drive on the north to Huntington Drive at its intersection with Holly Avenue on the south, all in the City of Arcadia, which said portion of abandoned Pacific Electric Railway right of way has heretofore been acquired by eminent domain by the County of Los Angeles for street purposes. SECTION 2.
