RESOLUTION NO. 2736
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
GRANTING A VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE
OPERATION OF A DOCTOR'S OFFICE AT
141 WEST LAS TUNAS DRIVE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA; DOES
FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning
Commission on October 28, 1955, the petition of R. H. Jones, as
owner, for a zone variance to permit the following described prop-
erty in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, to wit:
Lot 30, Tract No. 13540, as shown on map recorded
in Book 277, pages 11 and 12, of Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County,
located at 141 West Las Tunas Drive, to be used for the conduct of
a doctor's office; and that after notice as required by Ordinance No.
760 of the City of Arcadia, a publiC hearing was duly held by and
before said Commission on the 22nd day of November, 1955, at which
time all interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard
and to present evidence. That upon the conclusion of said hearing,
said Commission adopted its certain Resolution No. 208, wherein and
whereby it made certain findings and recommendations to this Council.

SECTION 2. That there were no protests to the granting of
the requested variance. That the subject property is in an R-3 Zone.
and could, until the adoption of Ordinance No. 900, lawfully be used
for the construction, maintenance and operation of a medical office.
That property across the street is zoned for commercial uses and
that subject property is no longer particularly desirable for resi-
dential uses.
SECTION 3. That the granting of a variance as hereinafter
recommended is necessary for the preservation of substantial property
rights of the applicant for the foregoing reasons. That the granting

of the variance as hereinafter recommended will not be inconsistent
with good planning practice, nor with the provisions of the master
zoning plan, nor with the present or prospective development of the
neighborhood in which the property is located but rather in con-
fOrmity with each of the foregoing.
SECTION'4. That for the foregoing reasons a variance is
hereby granted to permit Lot 30, Tract No. 13540, to be used for the
conduct of a medical office.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
an adjourned
at K/regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 23rd
day of January
, 1956, by the affirma-
tive vote of at least three Councilmen. to Wit:
AYES: Councilmen Camphouse, Dow, Hulse and Phillips
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Dennis
