HomeMy WebLinkAbout2746 RESOLUTION NO. 2746 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY ON THE 10TH DAY.OF APRIL, 1956, DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE HOLDING OF SUCH AN ELECTION, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SAME AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That a General Municipal Election be .and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Arcadia, State of California, on Tuesday, the lOth day of April, 1956, for the following purposes: 1 - For the purpose of electing the following offiQers, to-wit: Two (2) members of the City Council of said City of Arcadia to hold . office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the lOth day of April, 1956. One (1) member of the City Bouncil of. said City of Arcadia to hold office'for the unexpired term or period of two (2) years from and after the lOth day of April, 1956. City Clerk of said City of Arcadia to hold office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the lOth day of April, 1956. SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election there shall be and are hereby established twenty-five (25) election precincts designated as hereinafter stated. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the place hereinafter designated, and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City, and of their respective 'election precincts, are hereby appointed officers of election for their re- spective election precincts, and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES Voting Precinct 1, comprising state and countyprecincts Nos. 1, 52, 68 and 74. The polling place shall be at Spencer's residence, 647 Gloria Road. Lane SECTION 3 - That the polls for said election shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock A.M. on the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 o'clock P.M. of the said day. SECTION 4 - That said general municipal election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Arcadia and in accordance with the provisions of the Elections . . Code of the State of California pertaining to <G.ene ral' 'L a w "; Cities so far as the same are not in conflict with said City Charter. SECTION 5 - That the compensation to be paid for each Polling Place used in said general municipal election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of TWELVE ($12.00) DOLLARS. That the com- pensation to be paid to each Inspector hereinabove mentioned for all services by each Inspector to be rendered at said general municipal el~ction shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of FIRTEEN ($15.~~) DOLLARS. That the compensation to be paid to each of the other aforesaid officers of election for all services rendered by each of said other officers at said general municipal election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of n'iELVE ($12.00) DOLLARS. SECTION 6 - That said City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on Tuesday, April 17, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., to canvass the returns of said election and declare the results thereof. SECTION 7 - The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
