RESOLUTION NO. 2777
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
.nEQ.UESTING FROi-l THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISOR~ OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES CERTAIN GASOLINE TAX FUNDS
JOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN PUBLIC
STREETS IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA.
rlliEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia deems it
necessary that portions of certain publiC streets in the City of
Arcadia be improved in the manner and to the extent as hereinafter
more fUlly desc~ibed; and,
\lliEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has available for use
by the City of Arcadia certain gasoline tax funds for the improve-
ment of such st~eets and highways;
NOW, 'fHEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOE~ HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles be and they are hereby requested to appropriate from
said gasoline tax funds the sum of Ten thousand three hundred. and
nO/lOO dollars ($10,300.00) for the purpose of improving Baldwin Ave-
nue, a publiC street in the City of Arcadia, in the following manner,
to wit:
The widening of said Baldwin Avenue between Naomi Avenue
and Camino Real on the east side of the street by the removal and
reconstruction of curbs, gutters and sidewalks, and the construction
of plant-mix paving and appurtenant work.
SECTION 2. That the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles be and they are hereby requested to appropriate from
said gasoline tax funds the sum of Ten thousand and nO/lOO dollars
($10,000.00) for the purpose of improving Huntington Place, a public
street in the C~ty of Arcadia, in the following manner, to wit:
The widening of said Huntington Place between Holly Avenue
and ~anta Anita Avenue on the north side of the street by the con-
struct10n of plant-mix paving and appurtenant work following the

the constructi'Jn of curb and gutter by the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 3. That the Board of Supervisors of .the County of
Los Angeles be and they are hereby requested to appropriate from said
gasoline tax funds the sum of Twenty-three thousand seven hundred and
nO/lOO dollars ($23,700.00) for the purpose of improving Santa Anita
Avenue, a publlc street in the City of Arcadia, in the following
manner, to wit:
The widening of said Santa Anita Avenue by narrowing the
center parkway between Colorado Boulevard and Morlan Place and provid-
ing a left-turn lane at Colorado Boulevard, by the removal and re-
construction of curbs and gutters and the construction of plant-mix
paving and appurtenant work.
SECTION 4. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles be and they are hereby requested to appropriate from
said gasoline tax funds the sum of Eighteen thousand six hundred and
nO/lOO dollars ($18,500.00) for the resurfacing of the following
major streets in the City of Arcadia, Santa Anita Avenue, First Ave-
nue, Highland Oaks Drive, Sierra Madre Boulevard and Virginia Drive
with plant-mix paving and appurtenant work. That each of said streets
is a street of Dajor importance in the City of Arcadia and has been
adopted by the City Council and approved by the Division of Highways
of the state of California as a major street in the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 5. That all of the work in the projects hereinbe-
fore set forth shall be performed in accordance with the respective
plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer of
the City of Arcadia and approved by the City Council of said City.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and Shall cause a copy of the same to be for-
warded to the Road Commissioner of the County of Los Angeles.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
