HomeMy WebLinkAbout2643 RESOLUTION NO. 2643 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THE NECESSITY FOR AND ORDERING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That an exhaustive and comprehensive analysis and study of the fire protection facilities of the City of Arcadia has been undertaken and completed by the city administrative staff in cooperation with the Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific. That said study and analysis demonstrates and the City Council here~ by finds and determines that public convenience, welfare and safety require the relocation of Central Fire Statlo~ of the City of Arcadia to a location at Genoa Street and Santa Anita Avenue in said city and the acquisition of property at said location for said purposes. That it is therefore necessary to acquire adequate prop- erty for such purposes at said location. That it is necessary to acquire for the location, construction, maintenance and operation of Central Fire Station of the City of Arcadia Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 1, Tract No. 101, as per map recorded in Book 13, page 52, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County. SECTION 2. That the use to which such land is to be applied is a use authorized by law; that the taking of such property is necessary to such use; and that the publiC interest and neces- and.the fee title thereto sity require the acquisition of said property/by the City of Arcadia and the construction, maintenance and operation thereon of Central Fire Station of the City of Arcadia. That the proposed public improvement is planned and located in the manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good and the least pri- vate injury, and that the property proposed to be acquired for said - 1 - .,."t)~~O 2643 purposes is located within the City of Arcadia. That the property thus proposed to be acquired is unimproved and in private ownership and not appropriated to any public use or purposes. SECTION 3. That the City Attorney be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to institute proper proceedings in eminent domain in the appropriate court therefor for the acquisi- tion of the fee title to the above described property, and to cause to be done all things necessary or proper in accordance therewith. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
