A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIAi CALIFORNIAi
GRANTING A VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE
PREPARATION OF FOOD PRODUCTS AT 35
INDIANA STREET IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIAi CALIFORNIA; DOES
FIND; DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning
Commdssion on June 3, 1955, the petition of Albert L. Daniels, as
owner, for a variance to permit the following described property

Lots 23 and 24, Block 75, Santa Anita Tract,
as per map recorded in Book 15, pages 89 and
90, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County,

to be used for the preparation of food prOducts, including candied
apples, potato dishes, salads, etc.; and that after notice as
requ1red by Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, a publiC
hearing was duly held by and before said COIlIDI1ssion on the l4th day
of June, 1955, at which time all interested,persons were given a
full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence. That upon
the conclusion of said hea~ing, said Commission adopted its certain
Resolution No. 195, wherein and whereby it made certain findings
and recommendations to this Council.

SECTION 2. That there were no protests to the granting
of the requested variance. That the subject property is in a C-2
Zone and could, at the time of the construction of the building
thereon, lawfully be used for certain manufacturing purposes; that
said building is not suitable for ordinary commercial uses but has
been approved by the County Health Department for the requested use.
SECTION 3. That the granting of the variance as herein-
after provided is necessary for the preservation of substantial

property rights of the applicant for the foregoing reasons, and
will not, be inconsistent with good planning practice, nor with the
provisions of the master zoning plan, nor with the present or
prospective development of the neighborhood in which the property
is located, but rather in conformity with each of the foregoing.
SECTION 4. That for the foregoing reasons, a variance
is hereby granted to permit Lots 23 and 24, Block 75, Santa Anita
Tract, to be used for the preparation of candied apples, potato
dishes and salads, and such similar food products as the Planning
Commission may from time to time approve on written request.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia on
the 19th day of July, 1955, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Camphouse, Dennis, Dew, Hulse and Phillips.
NOES: None
