HomeMy WebLinkAbout2653 RESOLUTION NO. 2653 ~} A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA; CALIFORNIA; LEVYING THE ASSESSMENT FOR ARCADIA LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS NOS. 3, 4, 5, 6, 1 AND 8, REFERRED TO IN THE REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS AND THE ASSESSMENT CONTAINED THEREIN AND FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY ON JULY 8, 1955, UPON THE VARIOUS LOTS; PIECES AND PARCELS OF. LAND REFERRED TO IN SAID REPORT AND SAID ASSESSMENTS; AND AS CONTEMPLATED IN THE MUNICIPAL LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT ACT OF 1927 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1955-1956. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, Cali- fornia, has heretofore duly caused to be created Lighting Mainte- nance District No.3, Lighting Maintenance District No.4, Lighting Maintenance District No.5, Lighting Maintenance District No.6, Lighting Maintenance District No. 7 and Lighting Maintenance Dis- trict No.8, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Lighting Maintenance District Act of 1927i and, WHEREAS, as provided by said act, the City Engineer has furnished to the City Council an estimate of the expense for the next year of the items of maintenance and operation provided for in the final resolutions ordering the formation of the respective l1ghting maintenance districts Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7; and WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore approve the report of the City Engineer upon the formation of Lighting Mainte- nance District No.8, which said report itemized the expense of maintenance and operation proposed to be furnished for the street lighting system of said Lighting Maintenance District No.8, which said report shall be used according to law as the estimate of the expenses of said Lighting Maintenance District No. 8 for the next ensuing year. NOW; THEREFORE; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA; CALIFORNIA; OOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: - 1 - 2653 SECTION l. That that certain report, and the assessment contained therein, made by the City Engineer 0' the City of Arcadia, wbich was filed in the office of the City Clerk of said city on July 8, 1955, and herewith presented to the City Council under the provisions of the MUnicipal Lighting Maintenance District Act of 1927 of the state of California, be and the same is hereby con- firmed. SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia has now acquired Jurisdiction to levy the assessments hereinbefore and hereinafter referred to. That there shall be levied and the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby levy upon the respective lots, pieces and parcels of land shown and referred to in the assessment districts set forth in the report and assessment as presented to the City Council, prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia, and which was filed in the office of the City Clerk of said city on July 8, 1955, pursuant to the MUnicipal Lighting Maintenance District Act of 1927, and hereinbefore approved and confirmed, the respective amounts indicated in said report and assessment to be levied upon the said respective lots, pieces and parcels of landfor the fiscal year 1955-56. SECTION 3. That the said report and assessment herein- above referred to and on file as aforesaid in the office of the City Clerk of said city is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein for all further particulars and purposes, and for the description of the expenses of maintenance and operation of said districts. SECTION 4. That attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof, is a list and description of each of the lots and parcels of land within Lighting Maintenance Districts Nosz 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, with the several amounts due from each of such lots or parcels as their respective appropriate share of the costs of maintenance and opera- tion of the respective districts. That each of said amounts is hereby declared to be a lien upon the respective lot or parcel of - 2 - 2653 land set opposite the same, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a certified copy of this reeolution, with said Exhibit flA" attached, to be forwarded to the County Auditor of the County of Los Angeles, state of California, for the inclusion of said respective amounts with and collection together with all other taxes and assessments to be collected by the County of Los Angeles for and on behalf of the City of Arcadia, as provided by law. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 19th day of July, 1955, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT : City Clerk or the City of Arcadia SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19th day of July, 1955.
