RESOLUTION NO. 2654
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE IMPROVE-
MENT OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF FOOTHILL
BOULEVARD BETWEEN WIGWAM AVENUE AND FIFTH
AVENUE, THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF DIAMOND STREET
BETWEEN FIRST AVENUE AND SECOND AVENUE, AND
OTHER ALLEYS AND STREETS, ALL WITHIN THE CITY
OF ARCADIA.
WHEREAS, a publ~c hearing has been held dUly and regularly,
pursuant to Resolution No. 2638 and the laws and Constitution of the
State of California, on the proposed improve~ent of the first alley
south of Foothill Boulevard between Wigwam Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the
first alley south of Diamond Street between First Avenue and Second
Avenue, the first alley south of Laurel Avenue between Second Avenue
and Fifth Avenue, the first alley south of Floral Avenue between North
View Avenue and Fifth Avenue, and Second Avenue between Forest
Avenue and Laurel Avenue, all within the City of Arcadia, by the grading,
preparing subgrade, paving, and the construction of concrete curbs,
gutters and aprons, and appurtenant work thereto; and
WHEREAS, said improvement has been considered fully:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: '
SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby finds and
determines that the public convenience and necessity require the improve-
ment of the first alley south of Foothill Boulevard between Wigwam Avenue
and Fifth Avenue~ the first alley south of Diamond street between First
Avenue and Second Avenue, the first alley south of Laurel Avenue between
Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the first alley south of Floral Avenue
between North View Avenue and Fifth Avenue, and Second Avenue between
Forest Avenue and Laurel Avenue, all within the City of Arcadia, by the
grading, preparing subgrade, paving, and the construction of concrete
curbs, gutters and aprons and appurtenant work thereto, the nature, loca-
tion and extent of the proposed improvement and the district to be

assessed for the cost and expense thereof are shown respectively on
the profile and improvement plan No. 229, and specifications entitled
"Job No. 229 - Improvement of the First Alley South of Foothill
Boulevard and Other Alleys and streets" and assessment district map
No. w-66.
SECTION 2. That the said City Council hereby finds and
determines further that the "Special Assessment Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931" shall not apply to the
making of said improvement.
SECTION 3. That the said improvement shall be conducted under
the Improvement Act of 1911, which is Division 7 of the streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, and the City Engineer and
the City Attorney hereby are instructed to present to the said City
Council the said Resolution of Intention required by said Improvement
Act to initiate the proceedings for the improvement.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
