HomeMy WebLinkAbout2671 RESOLUTION NO. 2671 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING WORK TO BE DONE ON THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF FOOTHILL BOULEVARD BE- TWEEN WIGWAM AVENUE AND FIFTH AVENUE, THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF DIAMOND STREET BETWEEN FIRST AVENUE AND SECOND AVENUE, THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF LAUREL AVENUE BETvlEEN SECOND AVENUE AND FIFTH AVENUE. THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF FLORAL AVENUE BETWEEN NORTH VIEW AVENUE AND FIFTH AVENUE, AND SECOND AVENUE BE- TWEEN FOREST AVENUE AND LAUREL AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 2655. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, on the 19th day of July, 1955, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention, being Resolution No. 2655, to order the work described therein to be done, which said resolution of intention duly and legally was published as required by law, and notice of said improvement has been given in the manner required by law and protests having been filed by the owners of the property to be assessed for said improvement prior to the time set in said resolution of intention for filing protests, and having been heard and overruled by the City Council: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the publiC interest and convenience require, and the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the work described in said Resolution of Intention to be done, to wit, the im- provement of the first alley south of Foothill Boulevard between Wigwam Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the first alley south of Diamond Street be- tween First Avenue and Second Avenue, the first alley south of Laurel Avenue between Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the first alley south of Floral Avenue between North View Avenue and Fifth Avenue, and Second Avenue between Forest Avenue and Laurel Avenue, all within the City of Arcadia, by the grading, preparing subgrade, paving, and the construction of concrete curbs, gutters and aprons, and appurtenant work thereto. p INDEXEc- ~'7 / SECTION 2. The City Clerk hereby is directed to post a notice for 5 days on or near the door of the Council Chamber of the City Hall inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered and referring to the specifications on file and to publish a notice inviting such proposals for two days in the Arcadia Bulletin, a news- paper published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, the first of which publications shall be not less than ten days before the date said bids are to be opened. SECTION 3. Reference hereby is made to said Resolution of Intention for a description of the work, the assessment distnict, the bonds to be issued and for further particulars. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
