A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA; CALIFORNIA.
DENYING AN APPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE
TO PERMIT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN AN R-3
ZONE TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL
PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA;
DOES FIND; DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning
Commission of the City of Arcadia on August 10. 1955. the petition
of Manuel and Lee MaIer for a variance to permit certain commercial
uses. namely additional storage yard facilities for plumbing
material and, equipment on the rear property at 312 and 314 East
Huntington Drive. described as follows:
The easterly 48 feet of Lot 3. Tract No. 5205.
as shown on map recorded in Book 54. page 61.
of Maps; Records of Los Angeles County. ex-
cepting therefrom the northerly 179.85 feet
thereof and the southwesterly 25 feet thereof;
in connection with a plumbing. heating and sheet metal business at
310 East Huntington Drive. That after due notice as required by
law. a ~ublic hearing on the matter was held by and before said
City Planning Commission on August 23. 1955. at which time all
interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and
to present evidence. That upon the conclusion of said hearing.
said Commission adopted its certain Resolution No. 205. wherein and
whereby it made certain findings and recommendations to this Council.
SECTION 2. That because of the nature and 10cation of
the subject property. and the'zoning and use of adjacent proper-
ties. good planning practice and the orderly development of the
area require the institution of proceedings for and the consideration
of the property for reclassification for commercial uses.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reason. the petition
of Manuel and Lee Maler for a variance to permit the use of the

above described property in connection with a plumbing. heating
and sheet metal business at 310 East Huntington Drive be and it is
hereby denied without prejudice to any other or further proceedings
for the proper reclassification of the property or for other proper
relief.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
held on the 18th day of October. 1955. by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen. to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Camphouse. Dennis. Dow. Hulse and
Phillips
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
