RESOLUTION NO. 2.501
A. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE FO~~TION OF A
LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, DESIGNATED AS
"LIGHTING I~INTENANCE DISTRICT NO.7", TO PAY THE
COSTS AND EXPENSES FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERA-
TION OF A STREET LIGHTlliG SYSTEM NO':/ INSTALLED ON
PORTIONS OF SANTA ANITA AVEliUE, OAffi'fOOD DRIVE,
HIGHLAND OAKS DRIVE AND ORANGE GROVE AVENUE IN
SAID CITY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
DETERMINE, ORDER, FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 2478, passed, approved and adopted April 6, 1954,
and after a public hearing on the matter in conformance with the
provisions of the Municipal Lighting Maintenance District Act of
1927, being Division 14, Part 3 of the Streets ~d Highways Code of
the State of California, it is hereby ordered that a lighting
maintenance district be and the same is hereby formed and that the
boundaries of such lighting maintenance district, which district is
to pay the cost and expenses for the maintenance and operation of a
street lighting system now installed on portions of Santa Anita
A venue, Oakwo od Drive, Highland Oaks Dri ve and Orange Grove A venue
in said city, over and above the fifty per cent (5010) of the total
maintenance and operation costs and expenses thereof (other than
the additional cost of supplying steel poles in lieu of wood poles
amounting to $1760) to be paid out of the~easury of the City of
Arcadia from the general fund of said city, shall be and the sama,
are hereby finally established in conformance with and as shmvn on
that certain map entitled "Diagram of Lighting Maintenance District
No.7", heretofore prepared by the City Engineer and approvod and
adopted by Resolution No. 2477 of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia on April 6, 1954, and on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said city.

SECTION 2. That the items or maintenance and operation
or the aforesaid street lighting system agreed to be furnished and
the estimated cost thereof ror the rirst year, commencing JUly 1,
1954, are as rollous: electric power, repairs, replacements,
maintenance, labor, materials, engineering,. printing and advertising,
and the supplying or steel poles in lieu of standard wood poles;.
that the estimated amount of electric power necessary for said system
for the first year or maintenance and operation is the sum of
$887.o4~ that the additional cost or s~pplying steel poles in lieu
or wood poles fo~ the rirst year or maintenance and operation is
~176o.oo; that the estimated cost of all other items or maintenance
and operation of said system ror the first year is $38.00~ that the
items hereinabove enumerated shall be furnished rrom time to time as
necessary, and the expense thereor paid, as the same becomes due,
out of the proper respective funds and by advancement from the city
runds, if necessary.

SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of
the aforesaid maintenance end operation to be paid by the aroresaid
district, as set rorth in aforesaid Resolution No. 2478 of the City
Council of the City or Arcadia, shall be paid by special assessment
taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within said
district as hereinabove formed and established.
SECTION 4. That firty per cent (50~) of the total expenses
of maintenance and operation in said district (other than the addi-

tional cost of supplying steel poles in lieu of wood pales amounting
to 01760) shall bo paid out of the treasury or the City of Arcadia
rrom the general rund or said city and the remainder or the total
expenses or maintenance and operation in said district (including
the additional cost of supplying steel poles in lieu of wood poles
amounting to ~176o.00) shall be paid by such district.

SECTIOJ 5. That a certified copy of this Resolution
shall be fUed with the Assessor who makes the assessments for gen-
eral cit~ taxes, and thereafter the Assessor in making up the city
assessment roll shall segregate the property included uithin the
district hereby ordered formed on the assessment roll under the
district designation contained in the resolution, to-\"lit: "Light-
ing J.Iaintenance :;:l1strlct No.7."

e:CCTION 6. The City Cle rk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
r HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution uaa adoptod
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
on the 18th

least three Councilmen, to-pit:
