HomeMy WebLinkAbout2549 . RESOLUTION NO.2549 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE FORMATION OF AIR POLLUTION BOARDS IN ADJOINING COUNTIES. . WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia, according to the best authority available, Mr. Gordon P. Larson, is, because of its geographic location particularly affected by Smog; and WHEREAS, although we believe the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, who act as the Los Angeles County Air Pollution Board, is working toward a solution of this problem, we, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, believe that the Smog alleviation program should be augmented by the f:lrmation of Air Pollution Boards in Counties adjoining Los Angeles County, and particularly in San Bernardino County, which is the location of the Kaiser Steel II'dllS, .- NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby resolve that County Supervisor Herbert Degg be urged im- mediately to initiate steps to encourage, through formal request, . the formation of such Air Pollution Boards in adjoining Counties and the formation and coordination of a Southern Counties Smog Air Pollution Aleviation Program. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, attention of Honorable Herbert -.,~ C. Legg. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of .
