A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, CONSENTING TO THE ANNEXATION
BY THE CITY OF EL MONTE OF A PORl'IOli OF TYLER AVE..
NUE AND A PORTION OF LOWER AZUSA ROAD AND A cmrm
PARCEL OF CONTIGUOUS PROpmry OWNED BY A PIlBLIC
AGmCY, PDRUSANT TO SECTION 35304.5 OF THE GOVERR-

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annsmtion ot Un1Ilhabited Territory Act ot
1939", as emended, the City Council of the City of El Monte, on its own motion
by Resolution No. 1750, has he1"etofore 1n1tiated proceedings for the annexation
to the City of E1 Monte ot certain nn1"hAbited territ017 contiguous to and adja-
cent to the city limits of the City of El Monte, and near the northerly portion
of the City of El Monte in the County of Los Angeles, State ot California, which
territory ie not a pert ot e:1I1 other llItID10ipal corporation, and which said tem-
t017 proposed to be annexed is more particularly described as tollows,
Beg1""1"g at the most southerly corner of the parcel of land described
in the deed to Elizabeth C. Martin 1"ecorded in Book 145!!l, page 306, of
Official Records in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, being anqle point in the southeasterly boundary of the City ot
El Monte; thence easterly along the northerly line ot Lover Azuse. Rolld,
50 feet wide, shown as County Road on map of E. J. Baldwin's SUbdivision
recorded in Book 42, page 86 ot Miscellaneous Records in the otfice ot
said recorder, to a line drawn at right BDgles to said northerly line
through the northwesterly corner ot Tract No. 10817 as per map recorded
in Book 187, pages 36 and 37, ot Maps in the office ot said Recorder;
thence southerly in a direct line to said northwesterly corner; thence
southwesterly in a direot line to the northwsterly corner ot Lot 12 in
Block "C" ot said Tract No. 10817; thence easterly in a direct line to
the northwesterly corner ot Lot 23, Tract No. ll757, as per map recorded
in Book 214, page 39, ot Maps in the office ot sa1d Recorder; thence
easterly along the northerly line ot said Lot 23 and prolongation thereof
to the easterly line ot Tyler ~enue as established by deed to the County
ot Los Angeles recorded in Book 25129, page ll6, ot Official Records in
the office of said Recorder; thence northerly in a direct line to the
southwesterly corner of Parcel 19 as shown on a Record of Survey map filed
in Book 39, page 39 ot Reeord of' Surveys in the office of' said Recorder;
thence northerly in a direct line to the southwesterly corner of Parcel 21
as shown on said Record of Survey map; thence easterly in a direct line to
the intersection ot the southerly line of Parcel 38 as shown on said
Record of Survey map with the westerly line of the easterly 30 f'eet ot
said Parcel 38; thence northerly along said last mentioned wester1:y line
and prolongation thereot to the wster1:y boundary ot the City of Arcadia
as SBlll8 existed on April 15, 1954; thence norther1:y along said westerly
bouncl8ry ot the City ot Arcadia to the southeaiter1:y line of the north-
westerly 15 teet of the land described in the deed to .Tulla M. Elder
recorded in Book 14177, page 1, of' Official Records, in the office ot said

offioe 01' said recorder; thence westerly along said lpt mentioned northerly
line to the easterly bo1mdary of the City ot El Monte as same existed on
April 15, 1954; thenoe southerly 1'ollow1ng the various courses of the
boundary of the City of' El Monte as same existed on April 15, 1954 to the
point 01' beginning, and
WHEREAS, that portion of' the above described property lying east of' the
easterly line of Tyler Avenue is wholly owned by a public agency, to-witl by the
El Monte Union High School District; and
WHEREAS, the El Monte Union High School District, said public agency,
has purauant to Section 3SOO3 of the Government Code, requssted and coneented to
the annaation by the City of' El Monte of that portion of' the above described

. property lying east of the Easterly line of Tyler Avenue, which said portion ot
the above described property is wholly owned by said public agency; and
WHEREAS, it appears f'rom the aforesaid Resolution No. 1750 ot the City
Council 01' the City of El Monte that the proposal tor the annexation ot said
territory was submitted to the Boundary Commission 01' the County ot Los Angeles
and favorably reported upon to the proponents of annexation by the City Boundary
Commission of the County 01' Los Angeles with respect to the definiteness aJId
certainness ot the proposed boundaries, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government

. Code of the state ot Callf'orn1a, and that said territory is uninhabited, is con-
tiguous to the City of El Monte, and is not a pert ot llJIY other municipal corpora-
tion; 8Dd
WIWlEAS, Seotion 35304.5 ot the GOvernment Code of the State ot Cali-
tornia provides that if any portion of such territory or street, highv~ or road
is situated within three miles of the boundB.17 ot any othel" city, the consent ot
the legislative body of said city shall first be obtained; aud
WHEREAS, all ot such territory or street, h1g!1V!IY or road is situated
. within three miles of the boundaries ot the City ot Arcadia, and the legislative
body of said City ot Arcadia has no objeotion to the lUIJlexation of the aforesaid
territory to the City ot El Monte;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE rr RESOLVED that the City Counoil of the City ot
Arcadia, California, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act ot
1939", as amended, does hereby consent to the lUIJlexation of the above-described
territory to the City ot El Monte.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and

shall cause a certified copy of the same to be forwarded to the City Clerk of the
City of El Monte.
I HEREBY CERrIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting ot the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 16th day of
November , 1954, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit:
