HomeMy WebLinkAbout2435 ~~V~U~~VR ~V.~~~~ . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A REQUEST FOR VARIANCE OF AREA AND SIDE YARD REQUIREMENTS. . WHEREAS, there was filed with the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia the petition of Robert R. Bryant and Grace G. Bryant, as ow~ers, for a variance to permit the construction of an additional residence on the following described property, to-wit: Parts of Lots 58 and 59, Tract No.4869, as shown on map recorded in Book 52, Page 13 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the South line of Lot 50 distant 71 feet East trom the West line of said lot; thence East 64.82 feet; thence North 90 feet; thence East 6 feet; thence North 114.33 feet; thence West 70.82 teet; thence South 204.33 feet to beginning, being a lot located at 4ll West Lemon Avenue, said property containing l3,930 square feet, 'with a distance be- tween buildings of 22 feet instead of 35 feet as required by appli- cable Ordinances; and . WHEREAS, after notice required by Ordinance No .160 of said City, a publiC hearing was held on the matter by and before said Commission on the l4th day of July, 1953, and then duly continued to the 28th day of July, 1953, at each of which times all persons were glven a full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; and . WHEREAS, on August 11, 1953, said Commission passed, approved and adopted its certain Resolution No.116 wherein and whereby it made its findings relative to the requested variance and recommend- ed to this Council that the requested variance be denied. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That there were no protests, verbal or written to the granting of the proposed variance. SECTION 2. That the property comprises only l3,930 square feet, whereas l5,000 square feet of lot area are required for the construction of two single family residences in Zone R-l; that there are no exceptional circumstances applicable to subject pro- perty. That the property is well suited for the purposes for which it is presently zoned. SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons the request of Robert R. Bryant and Grace G. Bryant for a variance to permit the construction of an additional residence on property described in their said application with reduced yard and area requirements, is hereby denied. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 15th day of September, 1953, by the affirma~lve vote of the following Councilmen, to-wit: .
