THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIm CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLONS: WHEREAS, p\wauant to the provisions of Ordinance NO.760 of the City of Arcadia, adopted May 3, 1949, the"Planning Commission of said City did on ita own motion initiate proceedings for the grant- ing of a variance to permit the construction and operation of a . publiC school c'n the following described propeL'ty, to-wit: Parts of Lota 14 and 17, Arcadia Acreage Tract, as shown on map re00rded in Book 10, Page 13, of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, described as follows: . Beginning at a point in the West line of said lot 14, distant south 100 fe~t from the northwest corner thereof, thence south along the west line of said Lots 14 and 17 500.75 feet; thence east 430.92 feet; thence south 93 feet, thence ~ast 430.92 feet to the West line of First Avenuej thence north thereon 385.42 feet; i;lience west 287 feet; thence North 208.33 feet; thence west 574.84 feet to beginning, being a parcel pf land havins 500.73 feet frontage on Santa Anita Avenue opposite LeRoy Avenue and Naomi Avenue and 38~.42 feet frontage on First Avenue in the 1300 and lLlCO blol.:ks, to be used for the construction. maintenance anu operatiun of a publiC school thereon; and ~mREAS, as required by said Ordinance No.760 a public hearing on the matter wa~ held by said Commission on the nth day of December 1953, a~ which. tlme ~l~,,:persons interested were given full oppor- '...... Commission of said City acting in an advisory capacity to the City Council has mad., its findings and recommendations thereon under its cel'tain Resolution No.134 entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COr.U.lISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. CALIFORNIA, RECOMMEND- ING THE GRANTING OF A VARIAllCE AFFECTING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY TO PEHMIT THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL THEREON.", a true copy of which is attached hereto and made Ii. part hereof by reference the same as if hereinagain . fully set forth. NOW. THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby find, determine -l- cZ >,,, I . alld resolve as f,;llowB: SECTION 1. ~at the flndin€.:3 of the City Planning Ccrr.- mission as sat forth j,n their said Resolution No .134 be and thr.J same are hereby auopte( and ~aQe the findings of the City Council, the same as it herei,naga.i.n specifically set fOl'tj', in full; that the recommendations or the City Planning Commi~slon as set forth in their sald Resolution No.134 are hereby ap~roved in full; that a variance to permit the property hereinabove described, excepting the Nurtherly 48 feet of the Westerly 434.84 feet thereof, to be . used for the constructIon and operation vi' a public school be and the same is here~JY granted and approved. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall ctirtify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEmmy CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopt- ad at aa adjourne,d regular meeting at the City Council held on the 6th day of Januar'y, 1954, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: .
