A RESOWTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, READOPTING WAGE GUIDE,
ASSIGNING OR REAFFIRMING SCHEDULE NUMBERS TO THE
VARIOUS POSITIONS IN THE CITY EMPLOY, ESTABLISHING
OR REAFFIRMING MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM COMPENSATIONS
FOR SUCH POSITIONS AND LISTING THE EMPLOYEES OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS,
SCHEDULE NUMBERS, RATE CLASSIFICATIONS, AND COMPEN-
SATIONS AS OF FEBRUARY 1, 1954.

THE CI~~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETER-
MINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That wage surveys ot the compensation of the
employees ot the> City of Arcadia have been made trom time to time
and determinations; therefrom made by the Arcadia City Council;
That from time to time the Personnel Board and the City
.
Manager have recommended various changes in compensation for
specified employees or positions in the City employ;
That trom time to time various changes have been made in
the rates of compensation and schedule numbers applicable to
various positions in the City employ;
That more recently the Personnel Board has recommended
additional increases in the Polioe and Fire Departments end the
City Council has determined that such inoreases are reasonable and
necessary;
That because of the aforesaid numerous, changes, it is now
. advisable to reaf.firm, IlSsemble and coordinate the minimum and
maximum oompensations of the employees of the City of Aroadia, to
reaffirm the various positions in the employment of the City d:
Aroadia, to assign or reaffirm the schedule numbers applicable
thereto, and to ltemiza the employees of the City of Aroadia and
their respective positions, schedule numbers, rate classifications
and compensations.

SECTION 2. Pursuant to the foregoing the following
Salary Schedules heretofore adopted by the City Council. are hereby
reaffirmed and approved and made applicable to all poa.itions with-
in the classifIed service of the City of Arcadia:

SECTION 6. Neither the confirmation of any of the fore-
going employees' positions, skills, rate classifications of speci-
fied compensat;ion nor anything else contained in this Resolution
shall authorize or require payment of any compensation for ser-
vices not actually rendered, nor precluie or prevent the City of
Arcadia or any proper officer or body thereof from removing, sus-
pending, hiring, pr.omoting or transferring any of said employees
or any other person, in accordance with the ordinances, rules or
.
regulations of the City of Arcadia. No recital in the foregoing
Resolution shall confer any status upon any individual not already
acquired by such individual heretofore, it being the sole intent
and purpose of the foregoing to adopt a revised wage schedule fer
the City of Arcadia, to translate all prior salary rates and cost
of living adju,Btments into such revised wage scale and to itemize
and recapituJa 'ee all the information hereinabove contained. No
error in any of the foregoing Resolution shall confer any rights

whatsoever upon any person in whose favor such error was made.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, held on the 2nd day of February" 1954, by the affirma-
tive vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit:
