THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That effective February l. 1953. James A. !licklin
be and he is hereby appointed and employed as the City Attorney
of the City of Arcadia to serve in such capacity at the ~leasuro
of the City Co~~cil.
SECTION 2. That effective February 1. 1953. said appointee
shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of FIVE
~JNDRBD ~'~~TY FIVE ($525.00) dollars per month. payable monthly.
That said appointee shall be paid additional compensation for ser-
vices rendered by him for the preparation of any M~~icipcl Bond
proceedinGs. for services rendered in actions in court, for
appearances in hearings before administrative boards and commissions
other than City boards and comm1ssion~. and for proceedings taken
under any statutory Improvement Act. and for all other matters he
may be instructed to do end for which extra compensation is from
time to time specifically authorized. .\ny such additional compen-
sation is to be in an amount commensurate with the value of the
services rendered and in all cases shall be subject to the approval
of the City Council.
SECTION 3. Said appointee is hereby authorized and instructed
to codify and to perform all of the work required to codify all of
the penal and regulatory Ordinances of the City of Arcadia, and
such of the administrative ~rdinances of said City as aro normally
included in Municipal Ordinance codes, to supervise the printinG
thereof and to compile a table shOWing the disposition of all
Ordinances of said City. and to compile a comprehensive indox of
said Arcadia M~~icipal Code and the Arcadia City Cbarter, prior to
the adoption of said Code. To draft such new Ordinances for in-
clusion therein. and to revise such existing Ordinances as from
time to time he may be instructed ~o to do by the City Councilor as
. may be necessary to make existing ~rdinances consistent with the

. Arcadia City Charter. For all such services said appointee shall
receive as compensation the sum of TEN AND NO/lOO ($10.00) DOLLARS
per hour for each hour devoted to said work, and shall likewise be
reimbursed for the reasonable cost of all materials and clerical
assistance reasonably or necessarily used or employed by him in the
performance of said duties. The printing of the Arcadia Municipal
Code upon completion shall be done under contract ViDh the City of
Arcadia. Said work to be done at such times and places as are con-
. ducive to the expeditious completion of said work without undue in-
terference with the duties of said appointee as specified in the
Arcadia City Charter.
SECTION 4. All prior Resolutions relating to the subject
matter hereof are to the extent that they may be inconsistent here-
with hereby amended.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th day of
