RESOLUTION NO. 2364
.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
VACATE A PORTION OF EL MONTE AVENUE, A PUBLIC
STREET IN SAID CITY, AND FIXING A TI~m AND PLACE
FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED
VACATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES DETERMINE AND RE-
SOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That the publiC interest and. convenience require,
and the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby declare
its intention, to vacate the following portion of a public street
in the City of Arcadia, officially named and commonly known as El
Monte Avenue, to-wit: That portion of El Monte Avenue lying North-
erly of a line 50 feet North measured at right angles and parallel
to the center line of Duarte Road, and lying Southerly of a line 50
feet South measured at right angles and parallel to the center line
of Huntington Place.
SECTION 2. The City Council further determines that the publiC
convenience and necessity require the reservation and exception to

the City of Arcadia the right and easement, at any time, or from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, repair, replace, re-
move or renew sanitary seNers and storm drains and necessary BtFuctures
pertinent thereto in, upon, over and across said portion of El Monte
Avenue hereinabove described and proposed to be vacated as herein
declared, and that the proceedings taken hereunder are subject to
such reservations and exceptions.
SECTION 3. A map or plan indicating by boundary lines the

location and extent of the property included in the proposed vacation
is on file in the office of the City Clerk and reference is hereby
made to said map or plan for a further full and complete description
of all the properties comprising the aforesaid portion of street
proposed to be vacated as hereinbefore declared.
SECTION 4. The 19th day of May 1953, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on
said day in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City
Hall in the City of Arcadia, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and
. place at which any and all persons interested in or objecting to
the said proposed vacation may appear before this Council and show

cause why the aforesaid portion of El Monte Avenue should not be
vacated and abandoned as hereinbefore set forth.
SECTION 5. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be
posted notices of the passage of this Resolution and of the aforesaid
hearing at the places and in the manner required by law.
SECTIOK 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation pUblished and
. circulated in the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City 60uncil held on the 21st day of
April, 1953, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen,
to-wit:

ABSENT: Councilman Nottingham
