A RESOLUTION OF TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF

OF TIE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF ST. JOSEPH STREET

\'!HEREAS, Section 17 of Article XIII of the Constitution of the
State of Califorrda provides that the debt limitation and majority protest

Nmi, THEREFORE, THE CITY CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLO/IS:
SECTION 1. That said City Council proposes to initiate proceedings
for the improvement of the first alley south of st. Joseph Street from First
Avenue to Second Avenue, and the first alley south of Colorado Boulevard between

Santa Anita Avenue and Second Avenue, all in the City of Arcadia, by the grading,
preparing subgrade, paving, and pavement of concrete gutters and aprons on said
alleys and appurtenant work thereto, the nature, location and extent of the
proposed improvement and the district to be assessed for tIE cost and expenses

205, and specifications entitled "Specifications for the Improvement of the
Alley South of st. Joseph Street and Other Alleys in the City of ArcaMa,"
adopted and approved by said City Council by Resolution No. 2379 on the 16th
day of June, 1953, and assessment district map No. W-63, adopted and approved by
said Ci ty Council by Resolution No. 2380 on the 16th day of June, 1953, ani on
file in the offi'~e of the City Eneineer and the office of the City Clerk of
said City, to which said plan and profile, assessment district map and
specifications I'E,ference is made for all particulars relative thereto.
SECTIOr 2. That the total estimated cost of the proposed improvement
is $14,175.18.
SECTION 3. That th3 said improvement sp-all be conducted under the
IMprovement Act of 1911, l,hich is Division 7 of the Streets and Hightmys Code
of the State of C.,ilifornia.
SECT TON 4. That notice hereby is eiven that Tuesday the 7thday of
July , 1953, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chamber located in the City
Hall, Arcadia, California, there shall be a public hearing before said City
Council for th3 purpose of determining l,hether the public convenience and
necessity require the above described improvement.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall give notice of the hearing by
postin{'! a copy of this resolution in the manner prescribed by Section 5065 of
the Streets and Highways Code and by publication as hereinafter provided. AIry
person interested nlllY make protest afainst the proposed improveme~t in 1m tine
filed With the CitJl' Clerk at any tilOO not later than the hour set for the hearing
in the manner provided by Section 5220 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk hereby is directed to publish this
resolution in the A:roadia Tribune in two successive publications, the first
publication to be made not less than ten days prior to the date of the above
public hearing.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and thenceforth and th3reafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
