SOUTH OF ST. JOSEPH STREET,AND,OTHER ALLEYS, ALL, WITHIN THE CITY OF ARCADIA.., '. "_ " WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held duly and regularly pursuant to Resolution No. 2)81 and the laws and Constitution of the State of California on the proposed improvement of the first alley south of St. Joseph Street from First Avenue to Second Avenue, and the first 'alley south of Colorado Boulevard between Santa Anita Avenue and Second Avenue, all in the City of Arcadia, by the grading, pre- . , paring subgrade, paving, and pavement of concrete gutters and aprons on said alleys, and appurtenant work thereto; and w1ffiREAS, said improvement has been considered fully: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CIT"Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA . DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby finds and determines that the public convenience and necessity require the improvement of the first alley south of St. Joseph Street from First Avenue to Second Avenue, and the first alley south of Colorado Boulevard between Santa Anita Avenue and Second Avenue, all in the - , City of Arcadia, by the grading, preparing subgrade, paving and pave- ment of concrete gutters and aprons on said alleys and appurtenant work thereto, the nature, location and extent of the proposed improve- . ment and the district to be assessed for the cost and expense thereof are shown respectively on the profile and impr.ovement plan Job No. 205, and specifications, entitled "Specification for the Improvement of the . Alley South of St. Joseph Street and Other Alleys in the City of Arcadia." and Assessment District Map No. W-6). SECTION 2. That the said City Council hereby finds and determines further that the "Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation . JND'XED ~ J. 3 '1y . 'r .. '7 ....,.. t .{ , " . ' t and Majority Protest Act of 1931" shall not apply to the making of said improvement. SECTION 3. That the said improvement shall be conducted under the Improvement Act of 1911 which is Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and the City Engineer and the City Attorney hereby are instructed to present to the said City Council the said Resolution of Intention required by said t Improvement Act to init.iate the proceedings for said improvement. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of . . this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted . . by a four-fifths vote at regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 7th day of July, 1953, by the following vote: .
