RESOLUTION NO. 2399
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE IMPROVE-
MENT OF LA CADENA AND OTHER STREETS, ALL WITHIN
THE CITY OF ARCADIA.
WHEREAS, a pUblic hearing has been held duly and regularly,
pursuant to Resolution No. 2398 and the laws and Constitution of the
State of California on the proposed improvement of La Cadena Avenue
between Fairview Avenue and Huntington Boulevard, St Joseph Street
between First and Second Avenues, Third Avenue between Huntington
Boulevard and the north line of Tract 6860, Lucile Street between
First Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue, Walnut Avenue between Baldwin
Avenue and Station 12~00, and Walnut Avenue between Station 12~00
and Holly Avenue, all 'within the City of Arcadia, by the preparing of
subgrade and grading necessary for the construction of concrete curbs
t and gutters, and the construction of concrete curbs and gutters and
appurtenant work thereto; and
WHEREAS, said improvement has been considered fully:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby finds and
determines that the public convenience and necessity require the
improvement of La Cadena Avenue between Fairview Avenue and Huntington
Boulevard, St Joseph Street between First and Second Avenues, Third
Avenue between Huntington Boulevard and the north line of Tract 6860,
Lucile Street between First Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue, Walnut
Avenue between Baldwin Avenue and Station 12tQO, and Walnut Avenue
between Station 12+00 and Holly Avenue, all Within the City of Arcadia,
by the preparing of subgrade and grading necessary for the construction
of concrete curbs and gutters, and the construction of concrete curbs
and gutters and appurtenant work thereto, the nature, location and

extent of the proposed improvement and the district to be assessed
for the cost and expense thereof are shown respectively on the pro~
file and improvement plan for Job No. 204, and specifications, entitled
"Specification and Contract Documents for Improvement of La Cadena
Avenue and Other Street5~" and assessment district Map No. W-64.

SECTION 2. That the said City Council hereby finds and
determines further that the "Special Assessment Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931" shall not apply to the
making of said improvement.
SECTION 3. That the said improvement shall be conducted
under the Improvement Act of 1911 which is Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, and the City Engineer
and the City Attorney hereby are instructed to present to the said

Improvement Act to initiate the proceedings for said improvement.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
by a four-fifths vote at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Arcadia, held on the 21st day of July, 1953, by the
