A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
'rHE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA
ORDERING THE FORMATION OF A LIGHTING
J~INTENANCE DISTRICT, DESIGNATED AS
"LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 27",
TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES FOR THE
I~INTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A STREET
LIGHTING SYSTEM ON PORTIONS OF CERTAIN
DESIGNATED STREETS IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY ORDER, FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1, That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 3901, passed, approved and adopted September 20,
1966, and after a publiC hearing on the matter in conformance with
the provisions of the Municipal Lightlng Maintenance District Act of
1927, being Divislon 14, Part 3, of the Streets and H.ighways Code of
the State of Ca,lifornia, it is hereby ordered that a light.ing main-
tenance district be and the same is hereby formed and that the boun-
daries of such 11ghtlng malntenance district, which district is to
pay the cost and expenses for the maintenance and operatlon of a
street lightlng system on portions of the followlng designated
streets ln said City:

over and above the fifty percent (50%) of the total maintenance and
operation costs and expenses thereof to be paid out of the treasury
of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said City, shall be
and the same are hereby finally established in conformance with and
shown on that certain map entitled "Diagram of Lighting Maintenance
District No. 27", heretofore prepared by the City Engineer and ap-
proved and adopted by Resolution No. 3900 of the City Council of the
City of Arcadia on September 20, 1966, and on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City. That the boundaries of said Lighting
Maintenance District No. 27 and the properties included therein are
defined, bounded and described as follows:

SECTION 2. That the items of expense of maintenance and
operation of the said lighting system in said District to be fur-
,
nished and to be assessed in part against the lands within the dis-
trict (exclus1.ve of improvements) for the first year, commencing
December 31, 1966, are the rate charge by the utility company for
electric power (which rate includes ,the cost of repairs, replace-
ments, maintenance, labor and materials) and the cost of publica-
tion, posting of notices and eng.ineering costs in the formatlon of
the District. That the estimated amount of electric power necessary
for said system for each year is two hundred forty-one thousand, one
hundred sevent,y-two (241,172) k,llowatt hours and the estimated cost
of said electric power for the first year of maintenance and opera-
tjon is the swn of Thirteen thousand two hundred ninety-seven and
20/ioo dollars ($13,297.20) and the estimated cost of other items of
maintenance and operation for the first year is One thousand eight
hundred twenty-nine and 70/100 dollars ($1,829.70). That the total
estimated cost of the first year's maintenance and operation is
Fi,fteen thousand one hundred twenty-six and 90/100 dollars ($15,126.90).
SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of
the aforesaid maintenance and operation to be paid by the aforesaid
d1.strict, as set forth in afOresaid Resolution No. 3901 of the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, shall be paid by special assessment
taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within said
dlstrict as hereinabove formed and established.
SECTION 4. That fifty percent (50%) of the total expenses
of maintenance and operation of said district shall be paid out of
the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said
City and the remainder of the total expenses of maintenance of said
district shall be paid by said district.

SECTION 5. That a certified copy of this resolution
shall be filed with the Assessor who makes the assessments for
the general city taxes, and thereafter the Assessor in making up
the city assessment roll shall segregate the property included
within the district hereby formed on the assessment roll under
the district designation contained l.n the resolution, to wit:
"Lighting Maintenance District No. 27".
SECTION 6. That Lighting Maintenance District No. 17
was formed by Resolution No. 3452 of the Arcadia City Council
adopted January 16, 1962; that L1ghting Maintenance DistrIct No.
19 was formed by Resolution No. 3549 adopted January 15, 1963;
that all properties included within aforesaid Lighting Mainten-
ance Distr:l.cts Nos. 17 and 19, as descr1.bed in Section 1 of each
of aforesaid Resolut1.ons Nos. 3452 and 3549 respectively, are in-
cluded within I,ight:i.ng Maintenance District No. 27 here:l.nbefore
ordered formed" That no further assessments will be levied under
aforesaid LightIng Maintenance Distr1.cts Nos. 17 and 19. That
Resolutions No. 3452 adopted January 16,1962 and No. 3549 adopted
January 15, 1963 are hereby rescinded, and the City Counc:1.l here-
by directs and requests that all tax code areas heretofore estab-
lished by the County of Los Angeles solely by reason of aforesaid
Lighting Maintenance Districts Nos. 17 and 19, be abolished and
discontinued.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
