HomeMy WebLinkAbout3854 RESOLUTION NO. 3854 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF BALDWIN AVENUE AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia is informed and believes and hereby finds and determines that the hereinafter described portion of Baldwin Avenue is no longer re- quired for the public convenience, necessity, use and welfare, and that the public health, necessity and safety will be better served by the vacation and abandonment for public street and road purposes of the hereinafter described property, and does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon, pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of Pa.rt 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Ca.lifornia, the following portion of Baldwin Avenue in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of Ca.lifornia, described as follows: -1- 3854 Those portions of that 20 foot parcel shown as Baldwin Avenue on map of Tract 19681 recorded in Book 511, pages 26 and 27 of Maps in the Office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, described as follows: Parcell - Beginning at the northwesterly corner of said parcel; thence South 90 28' 25" East 75.01 feet along the westerly line of said Baldwin Avenue to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northwest and having a radius of 25 feet; thence southwesterly along said curve 39.26 feet to a point of tangency with the northerly line of Callita Street as shown on said map; thence North 800 30' 27" East 8.00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northwest and having a radius of 25 feet; thence northeasterly along said curve 39.26 feet to a point of tangency with a line that is parallel with and distant easterly 8.00 feet from the westerly line of said Avenue; thence North 90 28' 25" West 75.01 feet to the northerly line of said parcel; thence South 800 30' 27" West 8.00 feet to the point of beginning. Parcel 2 - Beginning at the southwesterly corner of said parcel; thence North 90 28' 25" West 111.44 feet along the westerly line of said Baldwin Avenue to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the southwest and having a radius of 25 feet; thence northwesterly along said curve 39.28 feet to a point of tangency with the southerly line of Callita Street as shown on said map; thence North 800 30' 27" East 8.00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the southwest and having a radius of 25 feet; thence southeasterly along said curve 39.28 feet to a point of tangency with a line that is parallel with and distant easterly 8.00 feet from the westerly line of said Avenue; thence South 90 28' 25" East 111.44 feet to the southerly line of said parcel; thence South 800 30' 27" West 8.00 feet to the point of beginning. ~ ~ ~ . SECTION 2. That a map or plan indicating by boundary lines the location and extent of the property included in the proposed va- cation and abandonment is on file in the office of the City Clerk and reference is hereby made to said map or plan for a particular and for a further, full and complete description of all the properties com- prising the aforesaid portions of properties. SECTION 3. That Tuesday, the 5th day of April, 1966, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, Cali- fornia, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and place at which any and all persons interested in or objecting to the said proposed vaca- tion and abandonment may appear before this Council and show cause why said portion of said Baldwin Avenue should not be vacated and abandoned as hereinbefore set forth. SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be posted notices of the passage of this resolution and of the aforesaid hearing at the places and in the manner required by law. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation pub- lished and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
