RESOLUTION NO. 3887
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST,
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE
ACQUISITION THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and necessity
require the acquisition by the City of Arcadia of the fee simple title in
and to the property hereinafter described for a public use, namely for
the realignment, opening, widening and improvement of Duarte Road.
That the use for which such land is to be acquired is a use authorized
by law; that the taking of such property is necessary to such use.
SECTION 2. That the real property the acquisition of which
is thus required is more particularly described as follows, to wit:
Parcel No.2. The southerly 12.00 feet, measured at right
angles, of the East 100.00 feet of Lot 146 of Tract No. 2731, in the
city of Arcadia, county of Los Angeles, state of California, as per
map recorded in book 33 page 29 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said county.
Parcel No.8: The southerly 12.00 feet, measured at right
angles, of lot 140 of Tract No. 2731, in the city of Arcadia, county
of Los Angeles, state of California, as per map recorded in book 33,
page 29 of Maps, in the office of the county recorder of said county.
EXCEPT the westerly 70 feet (measured at right angles) of said lot.
SECTION 3. That the City Attorney be and he is hereby authorized
and instructed to institute proceedings in eminent domain in the name of
the City of Arcadia in the Superior Court of the State of California in
and for the County of Los Angeles for the condemnation in fee simple of
the real property described in Section 2 of this Resolution, all of which
real property is required by the City of Arcadia as set forth in Section
1 of this Resolution, and for such purpose he is authorized at his dis-

cretion to employ associate counsel and to be reimbursed for the reason-
able value of all services rendered in connection therewith.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the
5th day of July, 1966, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine,
Hage and Forman
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
