HomeMy WebLinkAbout3812 RESOLUTION NO, 3812 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, pECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF DUARTE ROAD WESTERLY FROM SECOND AVENUE AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia is informed and believes and hereby finds and determines that the hereinafter described portion of the first alley south of Duarte Road westerly from Second Avenue is no longer required for the public convenience, necessity, use and welfare, and that the publiC health, necessity and safety will be better served by the vacation and abandonment for street and alley purposes of the hereinafter described property, and does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon, pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3, Part 3, of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the following portion of a public alley known as the first alley south of Duarte Road, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 346 feet of the easterly 76 feet of Lot 15 of Tract No. 808, per map recorded in Book 16, page 82, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County; The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 272 feet of those portions of Lots 13 and 14 of Tract No, 808, as shown on map-recorded in Book 16, pages 82 and 83, of Maps, Records of said County, described as follows: -1- 3812 Beginning at a point in the northerly line of said Lot 13, 117,5 feet easterly from the northwest corner of said Lot; thence easterly along the nor- therly lines of said Lots 13 and 14, 112 feet; thence southerly to a point in the south line of Lot 14 distant 6 feet easterly from the southwest , corner thereof; thence westerly along the southerly lines of said Lots 14 and 13, 110.96 feet; thence northerly in a direct line to the point of beginning; and The northerly 20 feet of the southerly 272 feet of the westerly 107,23 feet of the easterly 214.46 feet of Lot 14, Tract 808, per map recorded in Book 16, Page 82 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, for the first alley south of Duarte Road between First and Second Avenues. SECTION 2, That a map or plan indicating by boundary lines the location and extent of the property included in the proposed vacation and abandonment is on file in the office of the City Clerk and reference is hereby made to said map or plan for a particular and for a further, full and complete description of all the properties comprising the aforesaid portions of properties. SECTION 3, That Tuesday, the 7th day of September, 1965, at 8:00 o'clock p,m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and place at which any and all persons interested in or objecting to the said proposed vaca- tion and abandonment may appear before this Council and show cause why said portion of said alley should not be vacated and abandoned as hereinbefore set forth, SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be posted notices of the passage of this resolution and of the afore- said hearing at the places and in the manner required by law, -2- 3812 . '. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
