OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING FROM THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS AN~ELES.AID TO CITIE9. GASOLINE TAX FUNDS FOR.THE INSTALLATION. OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT TH~INTERSECTION OF DUARTE ROAD AND FIFTH AVENUE,. PUBLIC STREETS IN SAID. CITY OF ARCADIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia deems it necessary that the intersection of Duarte Road and Fifth Avenue, public streets in the City of Arcadia be improved by the installation of electric traffic signals; and, WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has available for use by the City of Arcadia Aid to Cities gasoline tax funds for the improvement of such streets and highways; NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles be and they are hereby requested to appropriate from said Aid to Cities gasoline tax funds the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred and nO/100 Dollars ($7,500.00) for the purpose of im- proving the intersection of Duarte Road and Fifth Avenue in the City of Arcadia in the following manner, to wit: By the installa- tion of electric traffic signalS and other appurtenant work. SECTION 2. That all of the work in the project herein- above set forth shall be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia and approved by the City Council of said City. -1- 3840 '" ". SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a copy of the same t. be for- warded to the Road Commissioner of the County of Los Angeles. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 16th day of November , 1965, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Balser, Forman, Turner and Reibold NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Considine ~~I~,~ SIGNED AND APPROVED this 16th day of November , 1965. Fi1'th Avenue, brithin the City ot Arcadia, is of general County interest, and providing that County aid shall be extended therefor in the 811Dunt of $7,500 000. The amount shO\111 represents a portion of City of At'Cadia apportion- ment of County aid to cities tor the fiscal yeax.
