HomeMy WebLinkAbout3844 RESOLUTION NO. 3844 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING REMEDIAL CONCRETE WORK AT THE CITY LIBRARY TO BE OF URGENT NECESSITY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY, DECLARING THE FACTS CONSTITUTING SUCH URGENCY, AND ORDERING SUCH WORK TO BE DONE WITHOUT ADVERTISING FOR BIDS THEREFOR. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That increasing destruction of and damages to the City Library by reason of loose decorative rock surrounding por- tions of the library building, in addition to the faulty drainage re- sulting from such loose ornamental rock, has caused and is threatening to cause still further and substantial damage to said costly struc- ture. That to prevent further substantial damage from such causes it is urgent that such remedial concrete work be installed forthwith. SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 1109 of the Arcadia City Charter such work is deemed to be of urgent necessity for the preservation of city property and the City Manager is hereby author- ized and directed to cause such remedial concrete work to be installed forthwith without the necessity of advertising for bids therefor. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
