RESOLUTION NO. 3847
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DETERMINING THAT EVERY CANDIDATE AT
A MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR AN ELECTIVE
OFFICE IN SAID CITY SHALL PAY TO THE
CITY THE ACTUAL PRORATED COSTS INCURRED
BY THE CITY IN THE PRINTING AND HANDLING
OF A CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
PREPARED AND FILED PURSUANT TO SECTION
10012.5 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE, REQUIRING
A DEPOSIT TO COVER THE CITY'S ESTIMATED
COST OF PRINTING AND HANDLING SUCH A
STATEMENT, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PRO-
RATED REFUND OF ANY UNUSED PORTION OF
SUCH DEPOSIT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That each candidate in a municipal election
for an elective office in the City of Arcadia, California who, pur-
suant to Section 10012.5 of the Elections Code, prepares and files
a statement of qualifications shall, at the time of filing such
statement with the City, deposit with the City an amount estimated
by the City Clerk to cover'the actual costs of printing and handling
such statement incurred by the City as a result of providing such
service. The City Clerk's estimate of such cost shall be made in
accordance with a written estimate or quotation of cost for the
printing and handling of one statement of qualifications submitted
by the firm or agency selected by the City to furnish election sup-
plies, printing and services, if such a firm or agency is so selected;
if no such firm or agency is so selected, such estimate shall be.

based on the knowledge and experience of the City Clerk in such matters.
SECTION 2. All deposits made pursuant to Section 1 hereof
shall be kept in a trust fund until the actual prorated costs of
printing and handling incurred by the City as a result of providing
such service have been finally determined by the City. When such

costs have been thus finally determined, the amounts thus deposited
shall be used to pay the costs of printing and handling incurred by
the City as a result of providing such service, and the remaining
balance shall then be prorated and refunded on such prorated basis
to such candidates as shall have made the deposit specified in Sec-
tion 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the

of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
