RESOLUTION NO. 3711
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION
NO. 33 WEST ARCADIA UNINHABITED".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, on its own motion, does hereby initiate proceedings for the
annexation to the City of Arcadia of certain uninhabited territory
contiguous and adjacent to the City limits of the City of Arcadia
and situated near the southwesterly portion of the City of Arcadia,
and more particularly described in Section 5 hereinafter.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
desires to annex such territory to promote and insure the harmonious
d~velopment and use of the area proposed to be annexed and the
proper integration of said territory with the contiguous area already
within the limits of the City of Arcadia, and to comply with the
stated desires of many owners of property in such area.
SECTION 3. That the proposed annexation has been approved
by the Local Agency Formation Commission pursuant to and as required
by Chapter 6.6 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the California
Government Code and the proposal for the annexation of said territory
to the City of Arcadia has been submitted to and favorably reported
upon to the proponents by the Boundary Commission of the County of
Los Angeles as required by Section 35002 of the California Government
Code.

SECTION 4. That the said territory is uninhabited, is
contiguous to the City of Arcadia, and is not a part of any other
municipal corporation.
SECTION 5. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
does hereby give notice of said proposed annexation pursuant to
the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended;
that said territory is hereby designated as "Annexation No. 33
V1est Arcadia Uninhabited" and is described and bounded as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the City of
Arcadia Boundary, as same existed on May 1, 1964,
said angle point being the intersection of a line
that is parallel with the easterly line of Lot 3,
Block A, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as
shown on map recorded in Book 6, Page 137 of Maps,
in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County.
and 378 feet easterly, measured along the northerly
line of said lot from the northwesterly corner
thereof, and the southerly line of said Lot. 3,
said southerly line now being the center line of
Naomi Avenue 50 feet wide; thence westerly 411 feet,
more or less, along said southerly line and its
westerly prolongation to the center line of Golden
West Avenue. 60 feet wide, as shown on map of said
tract; thence northerly along said last mentioned
center line 330 feet to said City of Arcadia
boundary; thence easterly along said boundary and
following the same through its various courses and
distances to the point of beginning.
SECTION 6. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
hereby gives notice of and fixes Tuesday, November 3, 1964, at
8:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the day, hour
and place when and where the City Council of the City of Arcadia
will hear protests made by any person owning real property within
the territory above described. At any time prior to final adjourn-
ment of the hearing on protests, any owner (as defined by Section
35312 of the California Government Code) of property within the
above-described territory may file written protest against the

annexation. The protest shall state the name of the owner of the
property affected and the street address or other description of
the property sufficient to identify it on the last equalized
assessment roll.
SECTION 7. Notice is further given that at said place,
and at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said date and prior to said hearing on
said annexation, the City Council will consider the recommendation
of the City Planning Commission for interim emergency zoning to be
adopted, concurrent with such annexation, classifying said terri-
tory under the zoning regulations of the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk of the City of Arcadia shall
certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and shall cause a copy
hereof to be published and mailed as provided in Section 35311 of
the California Government Code.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adop-
ted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the
