RESOLUTION NO. 3737
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE
AND ABANDON A PORTION OF FOURTH
AVENUE AND OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH
OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE, AND FIXING A
TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF
OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
is informed and believes and hereby finds and determines that the
hereinafter described portions of Fourth Avenue and of the First
Alley South of Huntington Drive are no longer required for the pub-
lic convenience, necessity, use and welfare, and that the public
health, necessity and safety will be better served by the vacation
and abandonment for street and alley purposes of the hereinafter
described property, and does hereby declare its intention to vacate,
abandon and terminate, pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3, Part 3, of
Division 9 of the ,Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali-
fornia, those portions of Fourth Avenue and of the First Alley South
of Huntington Drive in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows:
Parcel 1 - That parcel of land deeded to the City
of Arcadia for alley, street and highway purposes
in deed recorded in Book 50303, Page 203, of
Official Records of Los Angeles County, described
as follows:
The northeasterly 20 feet of the southwesterly 45
feet, measured at right angles to and radially
from the southwesterly line of Lot 3, Tract No.
5205, per map recorded in Book 54, Page 61, of
Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County;

Parcel 2 - That parcel of land deeded to the c~ty
of Arcadia for street and alley purposes in deed
recorded in Book 55889, Page 400, of Official
Records of Los Angeles County described as follows:
The northeasterly 20 feet of the southwesterly 45
feet, measured at right angles to and radially
from the southwesterly line of Lot 5, Tract No.
5205, per map recorded in Book 54, page 61, of
Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County; and the northeasterly 20 feet of the
southwesterly 65 feet, measured at right angles
to and radially from the southwesterly line of
said Lot 5, of the easterly 40 feet, measured at
right angles to the easterly line of said Lot 5;
Parcel 3 - That portion of Fourth Avenue dedicated
for street purposes in Tract 8504 as shown on map
recorded in Book 107, Page 56, of Maps in the office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, lying
southerly of the easterly prolongation of the
southerly line of Lot 23 of said Tract 8504.
SECTION 2. That a map or plan indicating by boundary
lines the location and extent of the property included in the pro-
posed vacation and abandonment is on file in the office of the City
Clerk and reference is hereby made to said map or plan for particu-
lars and for a further, full and complete description of all the
properties comprising the aforesaid portions of properties.
SECTION 3. That Tuesday, the 15th day of December, 1964,
at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of said
City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia,
California, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and place at which any
and all persons interested in or objecting to the said proposed va-
cation and abandonment may appear before this Council and show cause
why said portions of Fourth Avenue and of the First Alley South of
Huntington Drive should not be vacated and abandoned as hereinbefore
set forth.

SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to
be posted notices of the passage of this resolution and of the
aforesaid hearing at the places and in the manner required by Sec-
tion 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once
in the official newspaper within fifteen (15) days after the date
of adoption hereof.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 17th
day of November
, 1964, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
