HomeMy WebLinkAbout3621 RESOLUTION NO. 3621 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA) CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA OF CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS OF SAID CITY, SAID TERRITORY BEING SITUATED NEAR THE SOUTHEASTERLY PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 31, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)". THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS; SECTION 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Unin- habited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, on its own motion, does hereby initiate pro- ceedings for the annexation to the City of Arcadia of certain uninhabited territory contiguous and adjacent to the city limits of the City of Arcadia and situated near the southeasterly por- tion of the City of Arcadia as more particularly described in Sec- tion 5 hereinafter. SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia desires to annex such uninhabited territory to promote and insure the proper integration of said territory with the contiguous area already within the limits of the City of Arcadia and to comply with the stated desire:> of the owners of property in such area. SECTION 3. That the proposal for annexation of said territory to the City of Arcadia has been submitted to and favor- ably reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary Commission -1- 3621 of the County of Los Angeles as required by Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. That said territory is uninhabited, is con- tiguous to the City of Arcadia and is not a part of any other municipal corporation. SECTION 5. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Unin- habited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby give notice of said proposed annexa- tion; that said territory is hereby designated as "Annexation No. 31, Southeast Arcadia (Uninhabited)" and is particularly described and bounded as follows: -2- 3621 "ANNEXATION NO. 31, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)" TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the City of Arcadia aa same existed on September 10, 1963, and the easterly bqundary of Tract No. 16091, as shown on Map recorded in Book 358, Pages 1, 2 and 3, of Maps in the office of the Re- corder of Los Angeles County; thence southerly along said easterly Tract boundary to the southeasterly corner of Lot 16 of said Tract; thence westerly along the southerly line of said Lot 87.28 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northeast and having a radius of 20 feet; thence northwesterly along said curve 29.22 feet to a point of tangency with the easterly line of Doolittle Avenue as shown on the map of said Tract; thence northerly along said easterly line to the intersection with the easterly prolongation of the straight line portion of the northerly line of Boley Street as shown on the map of said Tract; thence westerly along said prolongation and the northerly line of said street to said City boundary; thence northeasterly along said City boundary to the point of beginning. Description approved by L. A. Boundary Commission, October 9, 1963 SECTION 6. That the City of Arcadia hereby gives notice of and fixes Tuesday, December 3, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the day, hour and place when and where the City Council of the City of Arcadia will hear protests made by any person owning real property within the terri- tory above des9ribed. At any time before the hour set for hearing objections, any owner (as defined by Section 35312 of the California Government Code) of property within the above-described territory may file written protest against the annexation. The protest shall state the name of the owner of the property affected and the de- scription and area of the property in general terms. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a copy hereof to be published and mailed as required by Section 35311 of the California Govern- ment Code.
