RESOLUTION NO. 3627
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTERESTS,
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES AND ORDER THE
ACQUISITION THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERNINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOUS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and necessity require
the acquisition by the City of Arcadia of the fee simple title in and
to the property hereinafter described for a public use, namely for the
construction, maintenance and operation thereon of additional facilities
for the Department of Public Uorks and the Water Department of the City
of Arcadia and the transfer thereto of such existing facilities of said
Departments as may 'Je necessary for their convenience and efficient
operation and for any public use authorized by law. That the use for
which such land,is to be acquired is a use authorized by law; that the
taking of such property is necessary to such use.
SECTION 2. That the real property the acquisition of which
is thus required is more particularly described as follows, to wit:

PARCELS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE COMBINED CORPORATION YARD
Those portions of Tract No. 5205 as shown on map recorded in Book 54, Page 61,
of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, described as
follows:
Parcell - The northeasterly 30 feet of the southwesterly 55 feet, measured at
right angles to the southwesterly line of Lot 2 of said Tract.
Parcel 2 - Lot 3 of said Tract, excepting therefrom the northerly 179.86 feet
and also the southwesterly 45 feet as measured at right angles to the south-
westerly line of said Lot.
Parcel 3 - Lot 4 of said Tract, excepting therefrom the northerly 235 feet and
also the southwesterly 25 feet as ,measured at right angles to the southwesterly
line of said Lot.
Parcel 4 - Lot 5 of said Tract, excepting therefrom the northerly 235 feet
and also that parcel consisting of the West 60 feet of the southwesterly 45
feet and the East 40 feet of the southwesterly 65 feet, as measured at right
angles to the southwesterly line of said Lot.
ParcelS - That portion of Lot 8 of Tract No. 5205, City of Arcadia, as per
map recorded in Book 54, Page 61 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the
Easterly line of said Lot 8, with the Northeasterly line of the certain strip
of land 25 feet wide, as described in deed to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa
Fe Railway Company, recorded in Book 17236, Page 287 Official Records, of said
County; thence Northerly along said Easterly line 271 feet; thence Westerly
in a straight line to a point in the Westerly line of said Lot 8, distant there-
on 221 feet Northerly' from the Northeasterly line of said strip of land, 25 feet
wide; thence Southerly along said Westerly line 221 feet to the Northeasterly
line of said strip of land, 25 feet wide; thence Southeasterly along the said
Northeasterly line to the point of beginning.
Parcel 6 - The northerly 50 feet of the southerly 470.24 feet of Lot 9 of
said Tract.
Parcel 7 - The northerly 50 feet of the southerly 420.24 feet of Lot 9 of said
Tract.
Parcel 8 - The northerly 50 feet of the southerly 370.24 feet of Lot 9 of said
Tract.
Parcel 9 - The northerly 50 feet of the southerly 320.24 feet of Lot 9 of said
Tract.
Parcel 10 - That portion of Lot 9 of said Tract described as follows: Beginning
at a point in the East line of said Lot North 270.24 feet from the southeast
corner thereof; thence West to the West line of said Lot; thence South 50 feet
along said West line; thence East 111.35 feet; thence North 10 feet parallel
with the East line of said Lot; thence East 84 feet to the East line of said
Lot; thence North on said East line 40 feet to the point of beginning.
Parcel 11 - That portion of Lot 9 of said Tract described as follows: Beginning
at a point in the East line of said lot North 230.24 feet from the southeast
corner thereof; thence West 84 feet; thence South 10 feet parallel with said
East line; thence West 111.35 feet to the West line of said lot; thence South
50 feet along said West line; thence East to the East line of said lot; thence
North 60 feet along said East line to the point of beginning.

Parcel 12 - The South 78 feet of the North 678 feet of Lot 9 of said Tract.
Parcel 13 - That portion of Lot 9 of said Tract described as follows: Beginning
at a point in the East line of said Lot, North 58.24 feet from the southeast corner
thereof;thence North 34 feet; thence West to the West line of said Lot; thence
South on the West line of said Lot to a line parallel with and distant Northeast,
measured at right angles, 25 feet from the southwest line of said Lot; thence
southeast along said parallel line to a point that is West from the point of
beginning; thence East to said point of beginning.
Parcel 14 - That portion of Lot 9 of said Tract described as follows: Beginning
at the southeast corner of said Lot, thence North on the East line thereof 58.24
feet; thence West to a line parallel with and distant northeast, measured at
right angles, 25 f"et from the southwest line of said Lot; thence southeast
along said parallel line to the southerly line of said Lot 9; thence East along
said south line to the point of beginning.
Parcel 15 - That portion of Block 52, Santa Anita Tract, as shown on Map recorded
in Book 34, Pages 4,1 and 42 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the Recorder
of Los Angeles County, lying northeasterly of a line parallel with and distant
northeast, measured at right angles, 25 feet from the northeast line of the 50
foot right-of-way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
The following Lots, or portions of Lots, in Tract No. 8504, as shown on Map re-
corded in Book 107, Page 56 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County:
Parcel 16 - All of Lot 10 and the North 10 feet of Lot 11 of said Tract.
Parcel 17 - The South 40 feet of Lot 11 and the North 20 feet of Lot 12 of said
Tract.
Parcel 18 - The South 30 feet of Lot 12 and the North 30 feet of Lot 13 of said
Tract.
Parcel 19 - The South 20 feet of Lot 13 of said Tract.
Parcel 20 - Lot 14 of said Tract.
Parcel 21 - Lot 15 of said Tract.
Parcel 22 - Lot 16 of said Tract, excepting therefrom that portion lying south-
westerly of a line that is distant northeasterly 5 feet, measured radially from
the southwesterly line of said Lot.
Parcel 23 - Lot 17, excepting therefrom that portion lying southwesterly of a
line that is distant northeasterly 5 feet, measured radially from the south-
westerly line of said Lot, and all of Lots 18, 19, 20 and 21.
Parcel 24 - Lot 22 of said Tract.

SECTION 3. That the City Attorney be and he is hereby author-
ized and instructed to institute proceedings in eminent domain in the
name of the City of Arcadia in the Superior Court of the State of Cali-
fornia in and for the County of Los Angeles for the condemnation in fee
simple of the real property described in Section 2 of this Resolution,
all of which real property is required by the City of Arcadia as set
forth in Section 1 of this Resolution.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 5th
day of November ,1963, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
