HomeMy WebLinkAbout3648 RESOLUTION NO. 3648 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A REQUESTED ZONE VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FORTY- SIX UNIT EIGHT-STORY APARTMENT BUILDING AT 504 AND 508 WEST HUNTINGTON DRIVE IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLO\~S: SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning Com- mission on April 29, 1963, the application of Ralph F. and Margaret E. Erlingheuser, as owners, for a zone variance to permit the construc- tion of a forty-six (46) unit eight (8) story apartment building on property located at 504 and 508 West Huntington Drive in the City of Arcadia, described as follows: The northerly 354.89 feet of Lot 19 and the northerly 208.93 feet of Lot 20, Tract No. 2828, per map recorded in Book 33, page 63, of Maps, records of Los Angeles County. That after due notice as required by the Zoning Ordinance of said City, a publiC hearing was duly held on the matter by and before said City Planning Commission on May 14, 1963, which hearing was duly continued to May 28, 1963, again continued to June 11, 1963, and again continued to June 25, 1963, at which times all interested parties were given a full opportWlity to be heard and to present evidence. That said City Planning Commission thereafter on July 9, 1963, adopted its certain Resolution No. 485 wherein and whereby it recommended the denial of the requested variance. SECTION 2. That subject property contains but 175 feet of frontage and ranges in depth from 208.93 feet to 345.89 feet. That the granting of the requested variance will be injurious to property and improvements in the zone and vicinity in which the property is located, not only because of the proposed relative density of develop- ment thereof, but particularly because of the L-shape and location of . the property. -1- 3648 SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons the requested variance to permit the construction of a forty-six (46) unit eight (8) story apartment building on the above-described property is here- by denied. SECTION lL The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
