HomeMy WebLinkAbout3662 RESOLUTION NO. 3662 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ENDORSING THE PROPOSED COUNTY 196L~ STORM DRAIN BOND ISSUE, WHEREAS, the members of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California received a report on storm drain deficiences in the City of Arcadia at their regular meeting of July 16, 1963; and, WHEREAS, the Arcadia City Council approved said storm drain deficiency report and instructed the Director of Public Works to sub- mit a list of storm drain projects to the County Flood Control Dis- trict in accordance with the request of the Board of Supervisors of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District dated May 21, 1963; and, WHEREAS, said storm drain deficiency report for the City of Arcadia was sUDmitted in compliance with instructions of the Arcadia City Council, and said storm drain deficiency report listed 31 pro- jects with an esfimated cost of $3,200,000,00 for the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, 16 of said projects were listed in said deficiency report as criticdl or urgent, with a total estimated cost of $2,000,000,00; arid, WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Flood Control District sub- mitted a storm drain report to the Los Angeles County Board of Super- visors on December 9, 1963 which stated in part: "In a partial program, on the order of $200,000,000.00, the final units could be initiated within approximately seven years, and there \'/ould be reasonable assurance of foreseeing construction costs, Maximum tax rate in- crease for a program of this size is estimated to be $.08 per $100,00 assessed valuation, based on 30-year bonds at four per cent"; and, -1- 3662 WHEREAS, in the above partial program, the City of Arcadia, based on Arcadia's percentage of the Flood Control District's assessed valuation, would receive an estimated $1,376,563.00; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES.HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities be requested and urged to endorse the proposed storm drain bond issue to be scheduled for election in Novem- ber, 1964. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adop- tion of this Resolution and shall cause copies thereof to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities, to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, and to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
