HomeMy WebLinkAbout3594 RESOLUTION NO. 3594 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING AND ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN ANNEXATION NO. 30, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED) UPON ITS CLASSIFICATION IN ZONE D (ARCHITECTURAL OVERLAY). THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Arcadia, proceedings were duly instituted and public hearings duly held by and before the City Planning Commission and the City Council of the City of Arcadia, as a result of which said City Coun- cil determined in part that the property located within Annexation No. 30, Southeast Arcadia (Uninhabited), County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southwesterly boundary of the City of Arcadia, as same existed on October 1, 1962, said point being at the intersection of the southwesterly line of Clark Street, 50 feet wide, as shown on map of Chicago Park, recorded in Book 30, page 100, of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County and the southeasterly line of Durfee Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 13286, recorded in Book 268, pages 29 to 32 inclusive, of Maps in the office of said Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence southwesterly along said southeasterly line 628.09 feet more or less, to its intersection with the southwesterly line of Randolph Street, as shown on map of said Chicago Park; thence southeasterly along the last mentioned line to an angle point in the existing City of Arcadia, boundary; thence southeasterly along said boundary, following its various courses and distances to the point of beginning; should be reclassified and established in Zones M-l and D (ArChi- tectural Overlay). SECTION 2. That for the protection of properties in the v vicinity, for the integration of subject property with the uses in -1- 3594 effect or permissible in the area, and to promote the full and proper utilization of the aforesaid property, the following restrictions should be and thE~ same hereby are imposed upon the above described property, pursuant to Division 2 of Part 7 of Chapter 2 of Article IX of the Arcadia Municipal Code, to wit: a. That five (5) feet on the south side of Clark Street be dedicated for street purposes. b. That all buildings be set back ten (10) feet from the front property lines as they exist after any street dedication herein required has been made. c. That all buildings shall be of tilt-up concrete, con- crete block or equivalent masonry construction and shall comply with the requirements of Fire Zone No.3. d. That doors and windows on the street side of a build- ing, except doors and windows used exclusively for light and venti- lation, and opening directly into rooms used exclusiyely for busi- ness offices, shall not comprise more than ten percent (10%) of the area of the street side of the building. No rooms on the street side of any building shall be used for storage, display or manu- facturing purposes if more than ten percent (10%) of the area of the street side of the building consists of doors and windows. No door for transporting materials or equipment into or out of the building may face a street unless set back from the front property line forty (40) feet or more. e. That as to all properties abutting a dedicated public street all parking areas for commercial and industrial vehicles and equipment shall be paved and shall be located to the rear or side of the buildings. That parking of employee and customer vehicles will be permitted in front of said building. f. All materials and equipment stored outside a building shall be stored at the side or rear of the main building and shall -2- 3594 ... ~ '. . be enclosed by at least a six (6) foot high masonry wall, and no materials stored outside shall project above the enclosed masonry wall. g. Tha.t any work areas outside the building shall be located in the rear of said building, or at the side, and shall be enclosed with at least a six (6) foot masonry wall. h. That the Planning Commission and the City Council shall each retain authority, without the necessity of further pro- ceedings, to make minor modifications in any of the foregoing regu- lations, if such modifications are necessary and desirable and will accomplish substantially the same results as will the strict ad- herence to the regulations hereinabove set forth. i. That the use of any portion of subject property for dump purposes be discontinued and the portion heretofore so used be cleared and compacted to the satisfaction of the Fire Chief and the Director of Public Works prior to any reclassification thereof. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
