RESOLUTION NO. 3418
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR, SETTING
A PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE
OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF ARCADIA OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE
PRESENT CITY LIMITS OF SAID CITY,
SAID TERRITORY BEING SITUATED NEAR
THE SOUTHEASTERLY PORTION OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA AND DESIGNATED AS
"ANNEXATION NO. 28, SOUTHEAST
ARCADIA UNINHABITED".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Unin-
habited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of
the City of Arcadia, on its own motion, does hereby initiate pro-
ceedings for the annexation to the City of Arcadia of certain un-
inhabited territory contiguous and adjacent to the city limits of
the City of Arcadia and situated near the southeasterly portion
of the City of Arcadia as more particularly described in Section
5 hereinafter.
SECTION 2, That the City Council of the City of Arcadia
desires to annex such uninhabited territory to promote and insure
the proper integration of said territory with the contiguous area
already within the limits of the City of Arcadia, and to comply
with the stated desires of many owners of property in such area.
SECTION 3. That the proposal for annexation of said
territory to the City of Arcadia has been submitted to and favor-
ably reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary Commission

of the County of Los Angeles as required by Section 35002 of the
Government Code of the State of California,
SECTION 4. That said territory is uninhabited, is con-
tiguous to the City of Arcadia and is not a part of any other
municipal corporation.
SECTION 5. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Unin-
habited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of
the City of Arcadia does hereby give notice of said proposed annexa-
tion; that said territory is hereby designated as "Annexation
No. 28, Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited" and is particularly described
and bounded as follows:

"ANNEXATION NO. 28, SOUTHEAST ARCADIA UNINHABITED"
TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA
Beginning at the point of intersection of the boundary
of the City of Arcadia as same existed on August 23, 1961, and
the westerly line of Tract No. 15233, as shown on map recorded in
Book 332, pages 29 and 30, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder
of Los Angeles County; thence southerly along said westerly line
to a point 2 feet northerly measured along said westerly line from
the northeast corner of Lot 69, Tract No. 16917, as shown on map
recorded in Book 386, pages 47 to 50 inclusive, of Maps, records
of said County; thence westerly parallel with the northerly line
of said Lot to the first point of intersection with the boundary
of the City of Arcadia; thence northeasterly, northerly and easterly
along said boundary through its various courses and distances to
the point of beginning.

SECTION 6. That the City of Arcadia hereby gives notice
of and fixes Tuesday, November 7, 1961, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
p,m" in the Council Chamber of the A~cadia City Hall, 240 West
Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the day, hour and place
when and where the City Council of the City of Arcadia will hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the terri-
tory above described. At any time before the hour set for hearing
objections, any owner (as defined by Section 35312 of the California
Government Code) of property wi thin the abow-cescribed territory
may file written protest against the annexation. The protest shall
state the name of the owner of the property affected and the de-
scription and area of the property in general terms.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy he~eof to be published
and mailed as required by Section 35311 of the California Govern-
ment Code.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 19th day of September, 1961, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
