RESOLUTION NO. 3425
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING THE SCALE OF PREVAILING
RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 3397 AND
ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 1773 of the Cali-
fornia Labor Code, the following wage scales for the basic trades
and sub trades hereinafter set forth are hereby ascertained and
determined to be the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in
the locality of the City of Arcadia and the general prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime work in said locality, That the
rates hereinafter specified shall be applicable as of the date
of the adoption hereof, except in such instances as rates or sched-
ules are hereinafter specified to be effective at a date later than
the date of the adoption hereof and in such cases the rates shall
be effective upon the respective dates hereinafter specified. Per
diem wages shall be deemed to include employer payments for health
and welfare, pension, vacation and similar purposes, when the term
"per diem wages" is used in any statute applicable to public works.
The basic trades and subtrades with respect to which the general
prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime in the locality of the City of Arcadia
as thus determined are as follows:

WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES
The wage rates listed below are in accordance with the tenns of the
Southern California Master Labor Agreement for the Construction Industry
and cover the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange. Riverside, San Bernar-
dino, Imperial, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern. Inyo and Mono.
ADDITIONAL COST ITEMS: For iubsistence Allowances. Transporta-
tion and Travel Time Allowances, Apprentice Program Contributions, etc., coo-
tact the Local Union or its District Council having jurisdiction.

hour premium pay additional to their regular rate of pay.
Combination Mixer and Compressor Operators on gunite work are classified
as Concrete Mixer Operators.
Operators on Tractors with scrapers or dragtype shovels in tandem receive 1St
per hour above their regular rate. .
The necessity for the me of an employee as a Si~nalman shall be detennined
by the Contractor. When used, he shall be an Engineer-Oiler who assist!: in
giving or relaying si~als by mechanical means (also by mealL'J of hand signals
on excavation work) directly to the Operator of hoisting equipment only.
On a survey crew, the PartY ,Chief sh~1 receive premium pay of 10; per hour

SECTION 2. That Resolution No. 3397 entitled "A RESOLU-
TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADOP-
TING THE SCALE OF PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 3170 AND ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH"
adopted July 5, 1961, and all other resolutions in conflict here-
with, are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be
filed with the Director of Industrial Relations within ten (10)
days after the date of the adoption hereof, and annually thereafter
shall cause a certified copy hereof to be filed with the Director
of Industrial Relations; if during any annual period the City Coun-
cil determines that there has been a change in any prevailing rate
of per diem wages in the locality of the City of Arcadia, the City
Clerk shall notify the Director of Industrial Relations of such
determination within ten (10) days after such determination is made.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the 7th day of November, 1961, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
