HomeMy WebLinkAbout3427 (/ RESOLUTION NO, 3427 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF DUARTE ROAD EASTERLY FROM SECOND AVENUE AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1, ~hat the City Council of the City of Arcadia is informed and believes and hereby finds and determines that the hereinafter deacribed portion of the first alley south of Duarte Road easterly from Second Avenue, a public alley in the City of Arcadia, is no longer required for the public convenience, neces- sity, use and welfare, and that the public health, necessity and safety will be better served by the vacation and abandonment for street purposes of the hereinafter described property, and does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon, pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3, Part 3, of Division 9 of the Streets and High- ways Code of the State of California, the following portion of a public alley known as the first alley south of Duarte Road, in the City of Arcadia,' County of Los Angeles, State of California, de- scribed as follows: A portion of the first alley south of Duarte Road, between Second Avenue and Fourth Avenue, as conveyed by deed recorded in Book 48336, page 179, of Official Records of said County, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Lot 33, Tract No, 808, as shown on map recorded in 'Book 16, pages 82 and 83, of Maps, records of said County, dIstant thereon North 0021'00" West 80,00 feet from the southeast corner ,thereof; thence South 89038'20" West along the southerly line of said alley 95.96 feet; thence North 66051'13" East 51.65 feet to the northerly line -1- 3427 -t'. ,... .. - of said alley; thence North 89038'00" East thereon 48,35 feet to the said easterly line of Lot 33; thence South 0021'00" East thereon 20 feet to the point of beginning, SECTION 2. That a map or plan indicating by boundary lines the location and extent of the property included in the pro- posed vacation and abandonment is on file in the office of the City Clerk and reference is hereby made to said map or plan for a par- ticular and for a further, full and complete description of all the properties comprising the aforesaid portions of properties. SECTION 3. That Tuesday, the 5th day of December, 1961, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and place at which any and all persons interested in or objecting to the said proposed vacation and abandonment may appear before this Council and show cause why said portion of said alley should not be vacated and abandoned as hereinbefore set forth. SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be posted notices of the passage of this resolution and of the afore- said hearing at the places and in the manner required by law, SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption , of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation pub- Ii shed and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
