RESOLUTION NO. 3476
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RE-
LOCATING THE CITY BOUNDARY LINES BE-
TWEEN THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND THE
CITY OF SIERRA MADRE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SECTIONS 50190 THROUGH 50200 OF
THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE.
I
WHEREAS, Sections 50190 through 50200 of the California
Government Code provides the authority and a procedure for the re-
location or alteration of city boundaries for the reasons and in
the manner therein specified; and,
WHEREAS, the existing boundary of the City of Arcadia
conflicts with established property lines of the property herein-
after described; and,
WHEREAS, the relocation of the Arcadia city boundary as
hereinafter provided will not relocate within the boundaries of
another entity property in any parcel in excess of one acre in
area; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal for the relocation of the city
boundary lines between the City of Arcadia and the City of Sierra
Madre was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of,
Los Angeles on and reported upon by said Boundary Commission of
January 31, 1962; and,
WHEREAS, on February 6th, 1962 the City Council of the
City of Arcadia adopted its certain Resolution 3466 entitled: "A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING AND PETITIONING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIERRA
MADRE FOR CONSENT TO THE RELOCATION OF THE BOUNDARY LINES BETWEEN
THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND THE CITY OF SIERRA MADRE PURSUANT TO SEC-
TIONS 50190 ET SEQ. OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVER.J-.lMENT CODE.", and
thereafter caused a certified copy thereof to be filed with the
City Council of the City of Sierra Madre, California; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sierra Madre on
February 27, 1962 adopted its certain Resolution No. 1867 entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIERRA MADRE,
CALIFORNIA, CONSENTING TO THE RELOCATION OF THE CITY BOUNDARY LINES
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND THE CITY OF SIERRA MADRE AS REQUESTED
BY THE CITY OF ARCADIA IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTIONS 50190-50199 OF
THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.", and thereafter
caused a certified copy thereof to be forwarded to the City of
Arcadia; and,
WHEREAS, all of Lot 13 of Tract No. 18702 per map recorded
in Map Book 590, pages 5, 6, 7 in the Office of the Recorder of Los
Angeles County is under one common ownership, and the owners there-
of are desirous that all of the said lot be within the boundaries
of one city; and,
WHEREAS, the majority of the area of the parcel affected
lies within the City of Arcadia and for that reason the owners
thereof have requested the City of Arcadia to annex to the City
of Arcadia that portion thereof lying within the city limits of
the City of Sierra Madre;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City boundary lines between the
City of Arcadia and the City of Sierra Madre are hereby altered
and relocated by excluding from the City of Sierra Madre and in-
cluding within the boundaries of the City of Arcadia, pursuant to
Sections 50190 through 50200 of the California Government Code,
the same being Article VIII of Chapter 1 of Part 1 of Division 1
of Title 5 of said Government Code, the property presently within
the City of Sierra Madre and described as follows:

Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 13,
Tract No. 18702, per map recorded in Map Book 590,
pages 5, 6 and 7, in the office of the Recorder
of Los Angeles County, said corner also being in
the boundary of the City of Arcadia as same existed
on July 12, 1961; thence South 590 41' 37" West
along a straight line which terminates in the most
westerly corner of Lot 12 of said tract, a distance
of 92.18 feet to a point in the northwesterly
prolongation of the southwesterly line of said
Lot 13; thence South 450 32' 48" East along said
prolongation 76.81 feet more or less to the most
westerly corner of said Lot 13, said corner also
being in the above-mentioned boundary; thence
easterly and northerly along said boundary through
its courses and distances to the point of beginning;

and the boundaries of the City of Arcadia and of the City of Sierra
Madre are hereby respectively altered accordingly.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be
submitted forthwith to the Secretary of State of the State of
California, to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles and to the City Council of the City of Sierra Madre, and
thereafter to execute and file, pursuant to Section 34080 of the
California Government Code, an affidavit stating that all require-
ments of law pertaining to the proceedings hereinbefore described
have been complied with.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the Arcadia City Council held on
the 6th
day of March.
1962, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
