HomeMy WebLinkAbout3485 ~-) , . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 3485 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING THE ~UESTED RECLASSIFICATION FROM ZONE R- 3 TO ZONES C-2 AND D ' (ARCHITECTURAL OVERLAY) OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2626, 2633, 2634 AND 2637 LOUISE AVENUE AND AT 55 AND 67 EAST LIVE OAK AVENUE. THE CIT& COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there was filed with the City Planning " Commission on October 9, 1961, the application of William H. Rowland, as owner, for a change of zone from Zone R-3 to Zones C-2 and D (Architectural Overlay) of certain property located at 2626, 2633, 2634 and 2637 Louise Avenue and at 55 and 67 East Live Oak Avenue in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, more specifically: described as follows: Lots 8,9 and 20, and Lot 19, except the north one foot thereof, Tract No. 11438, as shown on map recorded in Book 234, page 22, of Maps, records of said County; and that portion of Lot 65, ,Arcadia Acreage Tract, as 'shown on map recorded in Book 10, page 18, of Maps, records of said ,County, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the east line of Lot 19 of said ,Tract No. 11438 distant South thereon 1 foot from the northeast corner of said lot; thence South to the southeast corner of Lot 20 of said ,Tract No. 11438; thence northeast along the northerly line of Live Oak Avenue to the sou~hwest corner of Lot 2, Tract No. 12915, as shown on map recorded in Book 270, page 10, of Maps; records of said County; thence North to the northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence southwe~terly in a direct line to the point of beginning. That after notice:required by the Zoning Ordinance of said City, as amended, a public hearing was duly held on said matter by and before said City Planning Commission on November 14, 1961, which -1- 3485 .. hearing was duly'continued to December 4, 1961, and again continued to December 12, 1961, for staff and zoning committee reports, at each of which times all interested persons were given a full oppor- , tunity to be hea~d and to present evidence. That the City Planning . Commission thereon adopted its certain Resolution No. 438 wherein and whereby it made findings and determinations and recommended that said property be reclassified to Zones C-2 and D (Architectural Overlay). That thereafter, after notice duly given, a public hear- ing on said matt~r was held by and before this City Council at which , time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence and the entire matter reviewed and considered. I SECTION 2. That the requested reclassification of said , property is not at this time justified by good zoning practice and that the requested reclassification should be and the same is hereby denied, without prejudice however to the further consideration of such requested r~classification or some more restrictive rec1assi- , fication at any time in the future. That the vicinity of subject property requires some zoning relief which should be effected after further study of the area and the institution of appropriate pro- ceedings for such purpose.by the City Planning Commission. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted , at a regular meeying of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 17th day of April, 1962, by the affirmative vote of at least I . three Councilmen, to wit: -2- 3485 ...
