RESOLUTION NO. 3302 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLAJ:UNG ITS INTENTION TO MAKE CERTAIN PROPERTY AVAILABLE, FOR THE ERECTION OF A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMUNITY SERVICE BUILDING. WHEREAS, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce is desirous of erecting a building to be known as the Chamber of Commerce Community Service Building, which would be used to house such services as the Red Cross, Community Chest and the like in addition to the Chamber of Commerce; and, WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia is the owner of certain unde- veloped property located at the corner of Holly Avenue and Huntington Drive westerly from the Methodist Hospital of Southern California; and, WHEREAS, said City of Arcadia acquired said property subject to certain conditions, namely, that said property shall be used only for a hospital or related or.incidental uses, or for civic uses or purposes, which conditions expire on June 30, 1962; and, WHEREAS, said property is presently under lease to the Methodist Hospital of Southern California; and, WHEREAS, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce is desirous of erecting said Chamber of Commerce Community Service Building on the property owned by the City of, Arcadia at the corner of Holly Avenue and Huntington Drive, and has secured approval of the Methodist Hos- pital of Southern California; NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That it hereby declares its intention to make available for the erection of a Chamber of Commerce Community Service Building on the property owned by the City of Arcadia, located at the i ,,' corner of Holly Av~nue and Huntington Drive, lying westerly of the . present Methodist Ho~pital of Southern California buildings. ( . -1- 3302 .-'+. Resolution No. 3302 has never been adopted. It is possible it may be adopted at a later date. If so, please have the Mayor and clerk sign same. Hold until October I, 1962, thereafter, will mark Resolution to show "Never Adopted" i !' " r ~ . . . - . ~ .-~' SECTION 2. That the agreement with or lease to the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce of the above property be made upon the following conditions: a. That the construction of the building start on or be- fore January 1, 1962. b. That the architect's plans be subject to the approval of the City of Arcadia and the Hospital Foundation of the Methodist Church, Southern California - Arizona Conference. c. That the entire area covered by such agreement with or lease to the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce and not improved by build- ings be landscaped in accordance with a plan approved by said City Council of the City of Arcadia and by the Hospital Foundation of the Methodist Church, Southern California - Arizona Conference, and that said landscaping be maintained by said Arcadia Chamber of Commerce at all times throughout such lease or agreement to the satisfaction of said City Council. d. That an adequate parking area be designed and con- structed for the joint use of the Arcadia Chamber of' Commerce and the Methodist Hospital of Southern California. e. That such lease or agreement not be assignable without the prior written consent of the City of Arcadia, and that neither such lease or agreement nor the property therein described be in any manner hypothecated as security for any obligation without the prior written consent of the City of Arcadia. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this 'resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the day of , 1960, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: -2- 3302 , '.. .. ,-i, . .
