'"' .. . ., ' RESOLUTION NO~ 3304 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING,SECTION 3 OF RESOLUTION NO. 3267 OF SAID CITY. . , THE. CITY' .COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That in the adoption of the 196o~l961 b~~get, the City Council provided various increases to certain positions in the classified service, and in the adoption of Resolution No. 3267 " the City Counc.il intended to increase the compensation of the vari- ous positions in the classified service by advancing such positions to higher schedule numbers in the five-step plan. That. the duties, responsibilities and requirements for DepUty Treasurer have been considered to be equal to those of Stenographer Clerk and Account Clerk I alfd on an equal level salary-wise since the creation of said position on February 5,' 1957; that in the preparation.of the said 1960-1961 budget salary schedule No. 18 was inadvertently reassigned to the position of Deputy Treasurer instead of salary schedule No. 19 as intended.. That Resolution No. 3267, adopted June 21, 1960, duplicated the contents of the 1960--1961 budget and by reason of. such clerical error'reassigned salary schedule No. l8 to the posi~ tion,of Deputy Treasurer instead of , salary schedule No. 19 as in- tended. That under Section 804 of the City Charter, . , "A failure to grant an increa's'e. to an :l,ndividual, at a time when .increases are granted generally as a part of a plan to increase sal~ ariesand wages throughout the City service, ,shall likewise be a de- motion." That there was no cause for demotion of the Deputy. Treas-. urer, nor"was it the. intention of the Council to thus demote the Deputy Treasurer, and in order that no demotion be 'thus accomplished -1- 3304 . ''; . .. .. - . ... . . ,. and in order to correctly express the intent of the Council, it is necessary that Resolution No. 3267 be amended as h~reinafter pro- vided, and that such amendment be effective as of the effective date of said Resolution No. 3267. SECTION 3. ' That Section 3 of Resolution No. 3267, en- ti tIed "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE _ CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, READOPTING THE OFFICIAL FIVE-STEP SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THE VARIOUS POSITIONS IN THE CITY EMPLOY, ESTABLISHING AND REAFFIRM- ING THE VARIOUS POSITIONS IN THE CITY EMPLOY, ASSIGNINQ NEW SCHEDULE NUMBERS TO SUCH POSITIONS, AND ALTERING AND ADJUSTING THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM COMPENSATION FOR ALL POSITIONS IN THE CITY EMPLOY, AND AMENDING ALL PRIOR RESOLUTIONS TO, CONFORM HEREWITH", adopted, June - 21, 1960, be and the same is hereby amended to show the position of Deputy Treasurer in Schedule No. 19 with a salary range of $312.00 to $380.00 per month, said amendmebt,tobe effective July 1,,1960. . SECTION 4. The City ,Clerk shall certify to the adoption . , of this Resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of. Arcadia held on the 4th day of October, 1960, by the affirmative. vote .of at least - three Councilmen, to wit: .
