RESOLUTION NO. 3312
A 'RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
TERMINATING' PROCEEDINGS INSTITUTED
BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMI,i:)SION
PURsUANT TO' PLANNING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 372.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS. FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That on April 12, 1960, the City Planning
Commission adopted its certain Resolution No. 372, entitled "A RESO-
LUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALI-
FORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE
AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 760 BY AMENDING SECTIONS 15 AND 16 THEREOF
AND ANY OTHER PERTINENT SECTIONS TO PERMIT STRUCTURAL ALTERATIONS OF
AND ADDITIONS TO NONCONFORMING BUILDINGS UNDER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS
AND TO PERMIT THE MODIFICATION COMMITTEE TO GRANT MINOR MODIFICATIONS
.OFTHE PARKING REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE THERETO," wherein and whereby
it instituted on its own motion.proceedings for the purpose of making
findings and recommendations concerning the amendment of Sections 15
and 16 of Ordinance No. 760 to permit structural alterations of and
additions to nonconforming buildings under specified conditions and
to permit the Modification Committee to grant minor modifications of
the parking requirements applicable thereto, pursuant to which a.pub-
lie hearing was held thereon on April 26, 1960, which hearing was.
duly continued from time to time to and including September 27, 1960.
That on October ll, 1960, said Commission adopted its certain Resolu- .
tion No. 389.
SECTION 2. That although prOblems of structural altera-
tions and additions exist in.portions of the City, resulting from the
application of regulations concerning yard requirements, off-street
parking and parking access, enacted subsequent to the construction

of buildings, such regulations for the most part constitute good
zoning practice and any change to provide relief for specific por-
tions of the City would undermine the entire regulatory .structure with
. ,
respect to the balance of the City. That problem areas can be better
handled by granting specific variances for the respective areas
rather than by amendment of the regulations themselves.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons proceedings in-
stituted by the City Planning Commission by its Resolution No. 372
be.and the same are hereby terminated.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the 1st
day of November
, 1960, by the affirmative
vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Balser, Butterworth, Phillips, Reibold
and Camphouse.
NOES:. None'
