HomeMy WebLinkAbout3346 RESOLUTION NO. 3346 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING AND ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO CERTAIN CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY WEST OF PECK ROAD IN SAID CITY CLASSIFIED AND ESTABLISHED IN ZONE "D" (ARCHITECTURAL OVERLAY) . THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Th~t pursuant to the City Zoning Ordinance proceedings were heretofore duly and regularly instituted and con- ducted by and before the City Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, as a result of which said City Planning Commission in its Resolution No. 398, adopted December 27, 1960, recommended the re- classification to Zone M-l and to Zone D (Architectural Overlay) of the following described property in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, to wit: A portion of Lot 22, E. J. Baldwin's Subdivision of Lots 15-20 and 29-35 of the Rancho San Fran- cisquito, 'as shown on map recorded in Book 42, page 86 of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County; and por- tions of Lots 14 and 15 of the Western Two-Thirds Rancho San Francisquito, as shown on map recorded in Book 42, pages 93 and 94, of Miscellaneous Records in the office of said recorder, described as follows: That strip of land lying northwesterly of and adjacent to Peck Road 60 feet wide, said strip having a uniform depth of 370 feet, bounded north- erly and southerly by the Arcadia City Boundary; and being a portion of that certain parcel of land conveyed to the City of Arcadia by deed recorded in Book 10705, page 55 of official records of Los Angeles County; except therefrom the southeasterly 20 feet measured at right angles to said Peck Road; that, concurrent with said reco~endat~on, said City Planning Commis- sion further determined and recommended that the restrictions herein- -1- 3346 comprise more than ten percent (10%) of the area of such street side of the building. e. No rooms on the street side of any building shall be used for storage, display or manufacturing purposes if more than ten percent (10%) of the building consists of doors and windows. f. No door for transporting materials or equipment in or out of the building may face Peck Road unless set back from the front property line forty (40) feet or more. g. All parking areas for commercial and industrial vehicles and equipment shall be paved and shall be located to the rear or side of buildings. h. All materials and equipment stored outside a building shall be stored at the side or rear of .the main building and shall be enclosed by at least a six-foot high masonry wall, and no materials stored outside shall project above the enclosed masonry wall. i. Parking of employee and customer vehicles will be per- mitted in front of said building. j. Any work areas outside the building shall be located in the rear of said building or at the side, and shall be enclosed with at least a six-foot masonry wall. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 7th day of February , 1961, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: -3- 3346 o after provided should be made applicable to each parcel of the fore- going properties if they be reclassified as therein recommended. SECTION 2. That pursuant to the City's Zoning Ordinance, hearings were duly and regularly held by and before the City Council of the City of Arcadia upon the aforesaid recommendations of the City Planning Commission, as a result of which said City Council determined that aforesaid property should be classified and established in Zone M-l and also in Zone D (Architectural Overlay) as recommended by the City Planning Commission. SECTION 3. That for the protection of residential prop- erties in the vicinity, for the integration of subject property with the uses in effect or permissible in the area, and to promote the full and proper utilization of the aforesaid property, the following restrictions should be and the same hereby are imposed upon all and every parcel of the above described property, pursuant to Division 2 of Part 7 of Chapter 2 of Article IX of the Arcadia Municipal Code, to wit: a. All buildings shall be constructed of tilt-up concrete block or equivalent masonry construction in compliance with the Building Code of the City of 'Arcadia for construction in No.3 Fire Zonej except that frame and stucco construction shall be permitted in the front portion of the buildings for office use and decorative purposes. b. All buildings shall be set back a minimum of 10 feet from the Peck Road property line after street dedication. c. The front setback area shall be suitably landscaped and maintained. d.
