HomeMy WebLinkAbout3351 J RESOLUTION NO. 335~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF, ,ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION:TO VACATEAND,ABANDONA PORTION OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF LA PORTE STREET, A PUBLIC ALLEY IN SAID CITY AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO SUCH PROPOSED VACATION AND ABANDONMENT. , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Arcadia is informed and believes and hereby finds and determines that the, hereinafter described portion of the first alley south of La Porte Street, a public alley in the City of Arcadia, is no longer required for the public convenience, necessity, use and welfare, and that the public health, necessity and safety will be better served by the vacation and abandonment for street purposes of the hereinafter de- scribed property, and does hereby declare its intention to vacate, abandon and terminate, pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3, Part 3, of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Califor- nia, the following portion of a public alley known as the first alley south of La Porte Street, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: That portion of the first alley south of La Porte Street lying west of the west right of way line of Second Avenue, 60 feet wide, and east of the northerly prolongation of the east line of the west 20 feet of Lot 14, Block 81, of the Santa Anita Tract, as per map recorded in Book 15, pages 89 and 90 of Miscellan~ous Records in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. SECTION 2. A map or plan indicating by boundary lines the location and extent of the property included in the proposed vacation, . abandonment and termination is on file in the office of the City Clerk -l- 335);' and reference is hereby made to said map or plan for a particular and for a further, full and complete description of all the prop- erties comprising the aforesaid portions of properties. SECTION 3. That Tuesday, the 7th day of March, 1961, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, is hereby fixed as the hour, day and place at which any and all persons interested in or objecting to the said proposed vacation, abandonment and termination may appear before this Council and show cause why said portion of said alley should not be vacated, \ abandoned and terminated as hereinbefore set forth. \ SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to \ be posted notices of the passage of this resolution and of the afore- said hearing at the places and in the manner required by law. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circu- lation published and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
