RESOLUTION NO. 3385
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING
PROCEEDINGS FOR, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING
CONCERNING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME
AND PLACE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
ARCADIA OF CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT AND
CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS OF
SAID CITY, SAID TERRITORY BEING SITUATED
NEAR THE SOUTHERLY PORTION OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA AND DESIGNATED .AS "ANNEXATION
NO. 24, SOUTH ARCADIA UNINHABITED."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, on its own motion, does hereby initiate proceedings for the
annexation to the City of Arcadia of certain uninhabited territory
contiguous and adjacent to the city limits of the City of Arcadia
and situated near the southerly portion of the City of Arcadia as
more particularly described in Section 4 hereinafter.
SECTION 2. That a portion of said territory is owned by
the City of Arcadia and the City Council of said City of Arcadia de-
sires to annex the property owned by the City of Arcadia in order
to have exclusive control over its use and development, and to do
so it is deemed necessary to annex all of said territory.
SECTION 3. That the proposal for the annexation of said
territory to the City of Arcadia has been submitted to and favorably
reported upon to the proponents by the Boundary Commission of the
County of Los Angeles as required by Section 35002 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939," as amended, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia does hereby give notice of said proposed annexation; that
said territory is hereby designated as "Annexation No. 24, South
Arcadia Uninhabited" and is particularly described and bounded as
follows:

TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Tyler Avenue, 80 feet wide, as said center line is shown on map
of Tract No. 11584, recorded in Book 213, pages 2 and 3, of Maps,
in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of
California, with the northeasterly prolongation of the northwest-
erly line of Lot 67, said Tract No. 11584, said point being the
northwesterly corner of the land described in Certificate of Title
No. 2AM-120696, recorded in the office of said recorder; thence
along the northwesterly line of said land and along the northwest-
erly line of that parcel of land described in "PARCEL 297" in a
Lis Pendens in Superior Court Case No. 599406, recorded in Book
38952, page 202, of Official Records, in the office of said re-
corder, North 60028'16" East 1747.20 feet to the northeasterly
terminus of last said northwesterly line; thence along the north-
westerly line of the parcel of land described in deed to the Los
Angeles County Flood Control District recorded in Book 34536, page
393 of said Official Records, North 60009'21" East 130.10 feet
more or less to the boundary line of the City of Arcadia as same
existed on April II, 1961; thence southerly along said boundary
to its intersection with the general northerly boundary line of
the City of El Monte as same existed on above mentioned date;
thence southwesterly along the various courses and distances of
said general northerly boundary line to the northeasterly corner
of Lot 67 of said Tract No. 11584; thence northeasterly in a
direct line to the point of beginning.

SECTION 5. That the City of Arcadia hereby gives notice
of and fixes Wednesday, July 5, 1961, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
p.m., in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West
Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, as the day, hour and place
when and where the City Council of the City of Arcadia will hear
protests made by any person owning real property within the terri-
tory above described. At any time before the hour set for hearing
'objections, any owner (as defined by Section 35312 of the California
Government Code) of property within the above-described territory
may file written protest against the annexation. The protest shall
state the name of the owner of the property affected and the de-
scription and area of the property in general terms.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy hereof to be published
and mailed as required by Section 35311 of the California Govern-
ment Code.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 16th day of May , 1961, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
