HomeMy WebLinkAbout3397 ,~ ;J:'-- RESOLUTION NO. 3397 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE SCALE OF PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 3170 AND ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section l773 of the Ca1i- fornia Labor Code, the following wage scales for the basic trades are hereby ascertained and determined to be the general prevail- ing rate of per diem wages in the 'locality of the City of Arcadia and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in said locality. That the rates hereinafter specified shall be applicable as of the date of the adoption hereof, except in such instances as rates or schedules are hereinafter specified to be effective at a date later than the date of the adoption hereof and in such cases the rates shall be effective upon the respective dates hereinafter specified. Operators on all hoisting equipment with three drums or more reccive lO~ per hour premium pay additional to their regular rate of pay. Combination Mixer and Compressor Operators on gunite work are classified as Concrete Mixer Operators. Operators on Tractors with scrapers or dragtype shovels in tandem receive 15~, per hour above their regular rate. The necessity for the use of an employee as a SiJ,:tnalman shall be determined by the Contractor. \Vhen used, hc shall bc an Engineer-Oiler who assists in giving or relaying signals by mechanical means (also by means of hand signals on excavation work) directly to the Operator of hoisting equipment only. That Resolution No. 3170 entitled "A RESOLU:- TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPT- ING THE SCALE OF PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2934 .;.ND ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", adopted September 15, 1959, and all other resolutions in conflict herewith, are hereby rescinded. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof to be filed with the Director of Industrial Relations within ten (10) days after the date of the adoption hereof, and annually thereafter shall cause a certified copy hereof to be filed with the Director of In- dustrial Relations; if during any annual period the City Council determines that there has been a change in any prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality of the City of Arcadia, the City Clerk shall notify the Director of Industrial Relations of such determina- tion within ten (10) days after such determination is made.
