RESOLUTION NO. 3210
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING THE FORMATION OF A LIGHTING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT, DESIGNATED AS
"LIGHTING !.1AINTENANCE DISTRICT NO.
14", TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES
FOR THE MAINTENN~CE AND OPERATION OF
A STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM ON PORTIONS
OF SOUTHVIEI<I ROAD, ~1AGNA VISTA AVENUE,
SANTA ANITA TERRACE, LEROY AVENUE,
LOUISE AVENUE, THIRD AVENUE, ALSTER
AVENUE, WISTARIA AVENUE, DANIMERE
AVENUE, LAS FLORES AVENUE, LOGANRITA
AVENUE, STANDISH STREET AND ROLYN
PLACE IN SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY DETERMINE, ORDER, FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOvlS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 3201, passed, approved and adopted December 15,
1959, and after a public hearing on the matter in conformance with
the provisions of the Municipal Lighting Maintenance District Act
of 1927, being Division 14, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California, it is hereby ordered that a
lighting maintenance district be and the same is hereby formed and
that the boundaries of such lighting maintenance district, which
district is to pay the cost and expe~?es for the maintenance and
operation of a street lighting system on portions of Southview
Road, Magna Vista Avenue, Santa Anita Terrace, LeRoy Avenue, Louise
Avenue, Third Avenue, Alster Avenue, Wistaria Avenue, Danimere Ave-
nue"Las Flores Avenue, Loganrita Avenue, Standish Street and
Rolyn Place in said City, over and above the fifty percent (50%)
of the total maintenance and operation costs and expenses thereof
to be paid out of the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the
general fund of said City, shall be and the same are hereby finally
established in conformance with ~~d shown on that certain map en- ,
titled "Diagram of Lighting Maintenance District No. 14", hereto-
fore prepared by the City Engineer and approved and adopted by

Resolution No. 3200 of the City Council of the City of Arcadia on
December 15, 1959, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City. That the boundaries of sai~ Lighting Maintenance Dis-
trict No. 14 and the properties included therein are defined,
bounded and described as follows:
Parcel 14-1. Beginning at the northwest corner of
Lot 7, Tract No. 24499, per map recorded in Book 647, pages 10
and 11, of maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence easterly, northerly, easterly, southerly, easterly,
southerly, westerly, southerly, westerly, southerly, westerly,
northerly, westerly, northerly, westerly, northerly along the
various courses and distances of the boundary of said tract to
the point of beginning.
Parcel 14-2. Beginning at the northwest corner of
Lot 11, Tract No. 20952, per map recorded in Book 647, pages 89
and 90, of maps in the officeof,the recorder.'of Los ,Angeles
County; thence in generally easterly, northerly, easterly, south-
erly, easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly directions along
the various courses and distances of the boundary of said tract
to the point of beginning.' , "
Parcel 14-3. Beginning at the southeasterly corner of
Lot 1, Tract No. 21215, per map recorded in Book 639, pages 8
and 9, of maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County;
thence westerly, northerly, easterly and southerly along the vari-
ous courses and'distances of the boundary of said tract to the
point of beginning.
Parcel 14-4. Beginning at the northwest corner of
Lot 5, Tract No. 21228, per map recorded in Book 638, pages 68
and 69, of maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence northerly 154.13 feet along the northerly prolonga-
tion of the westerly line of said Lot 5; thence easterly 130 feet
along a line parallel with the northerly line of said Lot 5 to the
westerly line of Louise Avenue, 60 feet wide; thence southerly
15.5 feet, more or less, to a point of intersection with the
westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 6 of said
tract; thence easterly along said prolongation and along said
northerly lot line to the northeast corner of said lot; thence
southerly and westerly along the easterly and southerly boundaries
of said tract to the southwest corner of Lot 11; thence in a
direct line to the intersection with the point of tangency of the
southerly line of Lot 2 of said tract; thence westerly along the
southerly line of Lots 2 and 1 of said tract to the southwest
corner of saLd Lot 1; ,thence northerly and easterly along the
westerly and northerly lines of said Lot 1 to the northeast corner
thereof; thence norxherly along the westerly line of Lots 3, 4 and
5 of said tract to the point of beginning.
Parcel 14-5. Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1,
Tract No. 17746 per map recorded in Book 649, pages 48 and 49, of
maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County; thence
southerly along the westerly line of Second Avenue (72 feet wide
as shown on said tract map) 231.23 feet to the southeast corner
of Lot 7 of said tract; thence westerly, northerly and easterly
along the various courses and distances of the boundary of said
trac t to th e poin t of beginning.

Parcel 14-6. Beginning at the northwest corner of
Lot 21, Tract No. 19974, as per map recorded in book 596, pages
59 and 60, of Maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence easterly and southerly along the northerly and
easterly tract lines to .the southeast corner of Lot 1 of said
tract; thence southerly along the easterly line of Lot 2 of said
tract, to the southeast corner thereof; thence in a direct line
to the northeast corner of' Lot 5 of said tract; thence southerly
along the easterly line of Lots 5 and 6 of said tract to the
southeast ,corner of said Lot 6; thence in a direct line to the
northeast-corner of Lot 9 of said tract; thence southerly along
the easterly line of Lots 9 and 10 of said tract and along its
southerly prolongation to the northerly line of Lot 9 of Tract
No. 19593, per map recorded in Book 547, pages 35 and 36, of
Maps in the office of said recorder; thence westerly along the
northerly line of said Tract No. 19593 and along its westerly pro-
longation 261.42 feet; thence northerly 90 feet parallel with the
centerline of Third Avenue; thence easterly 15 feet parallel with
the northerly line of said Tract No. 19593; thence northerly 90
feet parallel with said Third Avenue; thence easterly 4 feet, more
or less, along the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of
Lot II of previously mentioned Tract No. 19974 to the southwest
corner of said Lot 11; thence in a generally northerly and easterly
direction along the various courses and distances of the boundary
of said Tract No. 19974 to the point of beginning.
Parcel 14-7. Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot
2, Tract No. 24548, per map recorded in Book 639, pages 95 and 96,
of Maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County; thence
in generally northerly, easterly and southerly directions along the
westerly, northerly and easterly boundary of said Tract No. 24548
to the southeast corner of Lot 20 of said tract; said corner lying
in the northerly line of Tract No. 13439 per map recorded in Book
481, page 15, of Maps in the office of ,said recorder; thence west-
erly, southerly and 'easterly along the northerly, westerly and
southerly boundaries of said Tract No. 13439 to the southeasterly
city boundary, as same existed on January 1, 1960; thence south-
westerly along said city boundary to the northerly line of Tract
No. 19653 per map recorded in Book 502, page 34, of Maps in the
office of said recorder; thence westerly along said northerly line
and along the westerly prolongation 510.83 feet; thence northerly
parallel with the easterly line of Tenth Avenue, 60 feet wide, 81.87
f.ee~more or less, to the southerly line of Lot 35, F. A. Geier
Tract, per map recorded in Book 23, page 40, of Misc~llaneous Re-
cords in the office of said recorder; thence westerly along said
southerly line to the easterly line of Tenth Avenue; thence northerly
along said easterly line 69 feet; thence easterly 240 feet parallel
with the southerly line of said Lot 35; thence northerly parallel
with the easterly line of Tenth Avenue 75 feet, more or less, to the
southerly line of Lot 2 of previously mentioned Tract No. 24548;
thence westerly along the southerly line of said Lot 2 to the point
of beginning. '
Parcel 14-8. ,Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 1,
Tract No. 24181, 'per map recorded in Book 643, pages 43 and 44, of
Maps in the office of the recorder of Los Angeles County; thence
westerly, southerly, westerly, northerly, westerly, northerly,
'easterly, southeasterly, southerly and easterly along the various
courses and distances of the boundary of said tract to the northwest
corner of said Lot 1; thence southerly along the westerly line of
said Lot 1, to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the items of expense of maintenance and
operation of the aforesaid street lighting system agreed to be

furnished and the estimated cost thereof for the first year, com-
mencing July 1', 1960, are as follows: electric power, repairs, re-
placements, maintenance, labor, materials, engineering, printing
and advertising; that the estimated amount of electric power neces-
sary for said system in said district for each year is seventeen
thousand three hundred and thirty (17,330) kilowatt hours and the
estimated cost of said electric power for the first year of main-
tenance and operation is the sum of One thousand three hundred
twenty-eight and 80/100 dollars ($1,328.80).
SECTION 3. That the percentage of the total expenses of
the aforesaid maintenance and operation to be paid by the aforesaid
district, as set forth in aforesaid Resolution No. 3201 of the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, shall be paid by special assessment
taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within said
district as hereinabove formed and established.
SECTION 4. That fifty percent (50%):of the total expenses

of maintenance and operation of said district shall be paid out of
the treasury of the City of Arcadia from the general fund of said
City and the remainder of the total expenses of maintenance of said
district shall be paid by said district.
SECTION 5. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall
be filed with the Assessor who makes the assessments for the general
City taxes, and thereafter the Assessor in making up the city assess-
ment roll shall segregate the pr.operty included within the district
'hereby formed on the assessment roll under the district designation
contained in the resolution, to wit: "Lighting Maintenam e District
No. 14"
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted,
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
