RESOLUTION NO. 3218 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY ON THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1960 AND DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SAID ELECTION, AND SPECIFYING A PROPOSAL TO BE SUBMITTED THEREAT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFOfu~IA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That, pursuant to Section 1000 of the Arcadia City Charter, a general municipal election be and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Arcadia, State of Cali- fornia, on Tuesday, the 12th day of April, 1960, for the purpose of electing the following officers to wit: Two (2) members of the City Council of said City of Arcadia to hold office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the 19th day of April, 1960, and a City Clerk of said City of Arcadia to hold of- fiye for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the 19th day of April, 1960; and for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the City of Arcadia the following proposi~ tion: Shall the Ordinance No. 107l, approved by the Arcadia City Council on January 5, 1960 upon recommendation of the Arcadia City Planning Commission, placing C-2 commercial zoning on all the prop- erty fronting on the east side of Baldwin Avenue between Naomi Ave- nue and Camino Real Avenue not already zoned commercially, and placing conditional C-3 commercial zoning on that portion of the prop- erty bounded by Baldwin Avenue, Duarte Road, Camino Real and Lovell Avenue not already or otherwise zoned commerCially, be ;adopted? SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election, election precincts, polling places and officers of election shall be hereafter established, designated and appointed. -1- 3218 .'~~7t. .~ , -- .. ... ~ ." SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock a.m. on the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 9'clock p.m. of said day, when said polls shall be closed except as provided in Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. That said general municipal election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Arcadia and in accordance with the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California pertaining to General Law Cities insofar as the same are not in conflict with said City Charter. SECTION 5. That said City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall on Tuesday, April 19, 1960 at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., to canvass the returns of said election and to declare the results thereof. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution, and shall cause notice of said election, the offices to be filled, the proposition to.be voted upon, and the other matters relating to said election to be given as required by the Elections Code of the State of California.
