HomeMy WebLinkAbout4055 RESOLUTION NO. 4055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO GIVE SERIOUS CONSIDERATION TO PROPOSALS CONCERNING THE TRUCK ROUTE AND PLANS FOR THE DUMPING OF DEBRIS FROM THE SIERRA MADRE DAM AND THE CARTER AND SANTA ANITA DEBRIS BASINS INTO THE SANTA ANITA DEBRIS DISPOSAL SITE, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, appreciateS the prompt efforts by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District to alleviate the problem created by the filled condition of the Sierra Madre Dam and the Carter and Santa Anita Debris Basins; and WHEREAS, the City Council is deeply concerned about the effect upon the residential portions of the City of the truck route and the existing plans for the completed appearance at the disposal site; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heard intelligent proposals for minor modifications to the plans of the District, as presented to said District by Mr, W. g, Smith of Arcadia, in a communication directed to the Honorable Frank G, Bonelli, Supervisor, First District, on February 21, 1969, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVES: 1, That the City Council endorses the proposals which will be presented to the District and its Chief Engineer on Thursday, February 27, 1969, and respectfully requests the District to give consideration to said proposals, believing that no delay will be caused by the slight modifications in routing available to the contractor and in the revision of the ultimate profile of the debris in the disposal area, 2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent posthaste to the Supervisor of the First District of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 25th day of February, 1969, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Hage, Helms None Councilman Considine.
